The Adegan Relic - 5.5W NDB7A75

Absolutely love it! :D

Quite a stellar output, the size to me looks perfectly balanced :)

It is definitely a great balance for me! :) I have updated the OP with a burning video, I'll embed it here also so you don't have to back up!

Thanks man! I wish the IQ was better though, using a phone as your video camera is a painful task. Gonna get my next DSLR in a few days though hopefully.

Greetings,

That is a gorgeous build you have my friend !! +1

Great attention to detail and materials, and a very well thought out design.

cheers,
Moe

I prefer these larger lightsaberish hosts. Nice work

Thanks man :) As I recall you were one of the few who knew what I was planning before it was finished. Did it live up to your expectations?

I had the priveledge of watching this beast come together from nearly the start and I must say I'm proud of Isaac. He is an awesome builder and extremely innovative. This laser is a one of a kind and absolutely amazing. I wish I could see its 5.5w or excellence in person though. Congrats man you did a great job

Oh also can you make me a grilled cheese with this thing? (Just saw the burn video)

Awesome laser ! :)

This build is really special. The second one deserves either a high power red diode , a 462nm diode ( with a higher wavelength like 470nm+- ) or a 1W 520nm.

Thanks for sharing !

Thanks man :) the next one will be FS so I can make up some funds for a new camera lens. Not sure what will sell fastest though.

This is the coolest thing iv seen in quite awhile. i wish i had the skills to make lasers.
what kinda duty cycle do you use with this

Tested to 3 minutes no problem. I won't go past 3 minutes because I don't want to test fate. lol.

PS - Thank for the kind words :D

Isaac is the best solderer known to man. Plus he does thermal epoxies aswell.

This new laser is :lasergun:

This is my issue as well, I'm scared of burning out my lasers but at the same time would love to have 100 percent duty cycles. All my current lasers(with the exception of laserglow 5mw 532nm) have 100 percent duty cycles but I'm not sure how realistic it will be to get this when I move up to 1watt+ lasers :)

It's totally possible you need to get creative with your heat sinking and consider active cooling as well. It's entirely possible though.
