I'll have to go ahead and make one of these 'direct battery' burners...

I have a couple of 10180's just sitting around.

Is that power using an AixiZ acrylic lens? Or with my 650-G-1?

It has an old aiXiz glass lens (for red) in it. I've never tested it with the 605-G-1 lens. The 605-G-1 should get you more output than mine.

they are focusable. The only host I've currently got in stock right this minute is a grey original. with a red LOC it will do 120mw with 2 button cells. A PHR will do 80mw, on 4 buttons.

You mean 3, right? Also, DX sells a package of 50(IIRC) button cells for a few dollars, for those who don't wanna bother with the rechargeable battery option.

Yep... just tested direct from a 10180 at full charge... 670mA's - 370mW's! (650-G-1)

But then I put a 2 Ohm 1 Watt resistor in there to limit the current some... Now it is giving 438mA's - 286mW's with the same lens...
