Had, and sold one of these lights a while back. It is a beast on turbo, with an impressive amount of throw, given the shallow reflectors. Great price for the modded version. If I didn't know that it would just also end up sitting in a desk drawer I'd buy it.

Regarding the batteries, the NCR18650B are a good choice overall, but not to run this light on turbo. These batteries really should not be run for any length of time at above 3.5/5A, and the light will not perform to it's full capacity.

I have a very large collection of lights gathering dust unfortunately :( Also four lights just sitting in the trunk of my car.

FWIW I checked, this is the light I sold to Jdawg a while back. With me, and I'm sure with him also, it was treated gently and I used it very briefly, mostly for comparison purposes to other lights.

Given the amount of light this thing puts out, it's still more powerful than most commercial made lights, and all lights at the same price. It is also of a higher quality due to the modding changes. For the price that it's being offered here it's a steal. IIRC Vinh from CPF, was only able to offer these at the prices he did, because he bought a lot set of them for $150 each, then modded them. For $135 it's hard to go wrong.

Hi, thinking about this. Just wondering, because it's modded from the original 3000lm, how do you know it's 5200/7000lm?

Bought package 1 from Vinh, Jdawg bought it from me.

EYE40vn 7000L
Low = .51A/per LED => 250 Lumen
Med
= 1.51A/per LED => 650 Lumen *2 = 1300 Lumen
High
= 3.1A/per LED => 1150*3 = 3450 Lumen
Turbo
= 6.1A/per LED => 1750*4 = 7000 Lumen

Package 1 is now 7000 Lumen! Package 2 is now 5200L

Thinking I was buying just for the host I got one of these 12T6 and it runs on 2 or 3 18650's or 26650's I use 3 x 26650's, It's much brighter than I expected and has a good throw, I got mine for around 50 dollars and if you look out for a deal you can get them for about that, you will love it for the price. I still use mine and just can't bring myself to gut it for the host as it is so bright.

My 12 emitters are set in a pattern with no gaps like this but holds 3 cells and has a removable section if you want to run 2 cells, the housing is thick and it is fantastic for 50 bucks.

Here's a quick clip I made that does not do it justice.
