Are there any sources out there for red laser goggles that are reasonably priced but still safe?

I have a 200mW red incoming and would like to have 2 pairs to so burning can have witnesses. :)

Thanks :)

If you use the handy search bar and search Red laser goggles you will find what you need. For me the first result was what you will need. The member was looking for goggles on a 200mW red. I suggest you use the search bar before making a whole new thread. Not being mean but just giving a tip. You seem new.

^BTW, a pair of goggles is recommended for any laser in the class IIIb, but with my 200mW red, the only thing I could see them being used for would be staring right into it...

I can get goggles for red laser use from CNI, regular cost was $48 in the Group Buy they are $36. Green protection can be found at lower costs. -Glenn

Thanks scope. I looked through your thread and was confused at what wavelengths you had goggles for. I'll just get them from you in the batch :) Are you saying they are 36$ from you or 48$ from you?

Thanks!

So the red laser goggles also stop blu-ray as well? As the CNI link is stating "T<1% for 200 nm-406 nm, and 550 nm-670 nm."

405nm falls within the 200-406nm range. Individual diodes may vary a bit in wavelength, but my guess would be this won't be much, but I'm not sure.

Hello,

I'm from Belgium and I'm a newbie in the world of lasers.
I'm interested by this domain but before begin I want protect my eyes and I would like if this kind of protections are good for a red laser ?
What do you think about this ? : Protection Safety Glasses Goggles for 650nm Red Laser - eBay (item 220440029799 end time Apr-18-10 08:11:22 PDT)

Thank you
If you trust the specifications they give you, then yes, those should be suitable for 650nm red lasers.

Thank you. I'm a little afraid because these goggles come from china but the evaluations are good, I think I'll try :)

"LS-B is built to protect from the CNI lasers ....."

 ..... does this mean that they do not protect you, if the laser is not a CNI one ? ..... (just kidding, ofcourse :p :D)

BTW, scopeguy20, do you have made any test, on them ? ..... asking cause i'm searching something more comfortable than my dark green "mask" for reds, and i'm curious to see if there's any absorption curve, for this model ..... and i don't find anything similar on CNI forum, so i'm wondering if someone have already tested them .....

No, so sorry, I do not have the proper equipment to test, but as soon as I get the next ones, I'll at least see w/ my Kenometer what the % is that happens to get through these with the red lasers I have, but I can't chart a continuum of wavelengths, that w/b best really. Maybe laserben has access to a spectraphotometer? -GH
