You're probably gonna be better off just paying pman or someone to fix it. Then you can either keep it, or sell it as a working unit.

I'd much rather not be putting more money into it. I would just like to sell it to someone who could fix it themselves. With so many people telling me how simple it is to build a laser, it leads me to believe that it must be even simpler to replace a part or two in one that's already built.

Not necessarily! If it's a clean build, with commonly used parts, maybe not very difficult.
Otherwise, it's much easier to start with new, clean. unmolested components.
