They look great! nicely made. Kind of a stupid question but how do they compare to the Arctic 3 and is the beam easy to focus?

Wannaburn , do you make the drivers on your own ?

Re: Sale / 3 Mode 445nm 200mW ~ 1.1W (Heavy Pix) + Video

Probably you should add another picture showing where the clickie button is located. :D Just a suggestion though..

Its a tail clicky .. I didnt mention it, but its in the video. Didnt realize
it was not shown in the pics :undecided:

The second part of the heatsink plays two roles in these... 1 which is
additional mass, and 2, it acts as a 'sleeve' for a nice fit to the battery..

These are much smaller (100mm long) and from what ive read of average
output of a stock arctic which rarely hit 1W, these are 1.1W at minimum.
The focus is easy to use and as pictured have the larger focus ring to
avoid burnt finger tips :D

The 3 mode control is not mine but the boost driver is

Hey - not sure if you remember me, but a bought a 6x (330mw) BR from you a while back...I think you were moving around that time if I remember correctly? Anyway, I'm happy to report that the laser still works great! I haven't been on the forums in quite some time, and I was looking at one of these new builds. Comparatively speaking, how much brighter is this build in comparison with the 330mw? Is it visibly that much brighter?

BTW I love the host on this new build!

Re: Sale / 3 Mode 445nm 200mW ~ 1.1W (Heavy Pix) + Video

So is it safe to say this is going to be a normally stocked thing with you, or is this something where you only have a finite number of them for sale?

Re: Sale / 3 Mode 445nm 200mW ~ 1.1W (Heavy Pix) + Video

I think you should make a compilation thread for all your great build wannaburn!

Long time no see... Good to have you back around LPF :D

445nm is far brighter than 405nm to our eyes and comparable to 532
in brightness...

Glad to hear your 6x is still marching along.. Been quite a while. I
also remember comments made about those 6x lasers and how
330mW was too much for that LD.. Guess those comments are
now null and void

It comes down to who makes it, and how... There is a very
good reason why my warranties are always over 1 year

So is it safe to say this is going to be a normally stocked thing with you, or is this something where you only have a finite number of them for sale?

These are limited as it stands, but may be ordering more after this run..
I can safely say that after these it will be at least a month before more
will be available...

:D Sounds like a good idea... I was saying to my wife yesterday that LPF is like a journal
going back nearly 4 years..

Its funny when I think back and where im at now with capability and current tech.
that we have access to..

Heres to the greatest hobby in the world

I liked these hosts as they are more of a tube.. rather than the 'flashlight'
look which I was getting kind of bored with :tired:

I added a video to the 1st post if interested, have a look

Yes I agree. Its hard to come by Flashlight Host that Resemble more of a Laser then a Flashlight.:)

I really Like the Crown on these. It Really Makes the Laser Look Mean but elegant.:eg:

Great Video. Its always Nice to see Live Action.:p

I wish these were available as a kit (un assembled) without the diode :(

Thats one of the best hosts ive seen, Good work WB.

I actually stripped and anodized my personal laser from this batch..
I like the new look, but like the original look a bit better on these.

This is one of the few hosts that I didnt change the look significantly before
selling..

If im not mistaken, this would be the 3rd host that I keep the original
anodize over a 4 year period.. :D

Thanks

If I could find a faster way to make the internals, id probably offer a kit... Just
not a 'kit' kinda guy I guess..

WB, that block of wood you use for burn test, what is it? is it just ordinary block of wood i can find on hardware store? or was it something like cork wood for bottles material?

Re: Sale / 3 Mode 445nm 200mW ~ 1.1W (Heavy Pix) + Video

Just a regular old piece of plywood... I dont like using plastics
and the like because the smoke is pretty nasty considering
how much is produced burning at high power..

Come to think of it, a nice piece of cedar will be my next victim
and will leave a better smell in the air.

Thanks for the update. I really like the clean look of this host, it really stands out. If you do more of them down the line that would be great. It's going to take at least a month of being nice to my wife (read: not spending too much more money) before I can do much else anyway. :D

Re: Sale / 3 Mode 445nm 200mW ~ 1.1W (Heavy Pix) + Video

Well I see you've done it again....
I like the looks of those Lasers... Only 10cm long but looks
like they would feel hefty in one's hand...

Nice clean builds as usual.... and a 2 year guarantee says it
all...:gj:

Thanks

I liked the look when I bought them but didnt know what to expect..
Turned out to be a good little host thats palm sized with lots of room
to add some extra T-6061..

They actually feel like a solid bar of aluminum stock in the hand.
Little details like that are what I look for, and are a must.

2 year warranty... that just goes without saying :san:
