That's a Class 1 laser diode, and no Xbox ever had a 405nm diode in it. The HD-DVD attachment does, but not the consoles.

Like everyone else has said, it needs to be from the HDDVD addon. I can see where the confusion arose from because when people mention it, they just say "xbox diode" because it is much easier than typing out "xbox 360 HDDVD addon diode".

LOL there goes my brothers xbox360 :'(
Maybe i can try selling him the diode for $300 bucks and get him a newxbox lol

The LASER DIODE is not class I. The XBOX is a class I laser device. Since the laser diode is safely housed and no one can be exposed to any radiation (without disabling the safety features, as we are all too familiar with) it is rated class I. Once the diode is extracted, it is now then classified as IIIa/b.

yeah, 360 only has a red and IR diode since it only reads DVDs and CDs.
i still would love to have one though. haha.
