Just wanted to share a bunch of several late evening & night shots I took last weekend. Admittedly, pretty much majority of the pictures were up to a certain extend enhanced/post-processed in Photoshop CC with the goal to pull the colours & contrast out. The photography background was set int the outside environment near the lake location I was at back in January during my "rainbow night". Some night sky pics with the single green beam were shot as a part of my experimenting with the astrophotography (I'll upload a few pics in the Post your random pics forum soon;).

Hopefully you'll enjoy some of them pics, forum watchers:).

Shakenawake asked me if I could have done him a favour to inform him of the appearance of the focal point/thinnest beam distance towards the aperture. Perhaps the very 1st shot was my try on this subject, but it doesn't show that much detail really:thinking:. Due to not having the right lens at the time planned to be used for a closer look (105mm f/2.8G), I truly apologise for that:tinfoil:. I can confirm though, at least in my case, the pin point is somewhere at the 30cm distance away from the aperture with the beam expander on. I'll try to deliver the right depiction if I get the chance next time, it's definitely better to perform it outside, obviously. Hope this clarifies things for the time being:).

Beautiful outdoor shots, like always! I especially like the 8th, 9th, 11th, and the last four showing the night sky. I am guessing you used one of your 800mw 532nm for these shots.

Some great shots here Gismo, love the 'halo' effect on the first one! +REP

Beautiful shots! I love the menagerie of colors you pulled out of the sky in the last shots. Magnificent work. +rep for sure!

Edit: must spread

Good stuff! That is a lot of green photons being thrown around right there... yeah buddy!

/c

All great pics but I really like the last couple of sky shots you got. Some killer beams shots for sure!

thank you sir, that's good enough for me. I can live with a focal point at that distance, some time next week I'll have my fixed focus 4.5W PL-E pro with BE, can't wait.

did you know JL has 900mW 532 pros now?

right now I'm trying to trade my pistol for a real nice camera so I can do some different, cheaper shooting. should be able to get a $600 camera if I can find a buyer, not around here obviously

:thanks: to all of you, folks!

Shakenawake: Woah, so much power to be overwhelmed with, 4.5W of blue madness (in a good sense, of course:D). You make sure to be pretty much the first reviewer of such a powerful piece, your experience will guide others interested in a product like that. A really good quality DSLR is anything, but cheap, but if you're serious about some damn proper (not only) laser beam presentation, it's the right choice:).

Hey Gismo, were the sky enhancements done in photoshop? Lightroom? Or is Ireland just a bitchin' place to live? :p

WBS: Photoshop CC (as mentioned in the 1st post:whistle:) with some Topaz filters applied. Let's be honest here, Ireland isn't the greatest clear skies destination in terms of astrophotography:D. One has to watch the forecast closely, unpredictability factor is there most of the times, though...

I'm just post-processing some hopefully not the worst looking clear skies shots with zillions of stars, apparently stacked and enhanced;). Will upload them sooner or later as promised.

More fine photonic photography gismo, nice photoshop work!
My favorites are pics 2,8,and 12. :)

weirdmeister, BowtieGuy, hakzaw1: kind words appreciated, guys:). Jetlasers laser products definitely deserve the right attention, hopefully Gray approves this very thread as well:beer:.

The composition of that last shot with the reeds and what not is awesome! Having an awesome camera is one thing, but having the artistic mind to frame the shots well and use the environment to your advantage shows a true photographer!
