Sieg C0 Micro Lathe $73.00

xStatiCa, congrats on getting you lathe! This is not the $73 lathe being discussed in this thread, but a higher model?

I would also be interested in hearing how they have been working out for people. How does cutting round aluminum stock feel on these, is it sturdy enough to make heatsinks?

I got the MicroMark 7x16. It is basically a newer revision of the Chinese 7xx lathes (500 watt brushless motor for example). Someone on mini-lathe.com reviewed it recently. I almost bought the smaller 7x12 from littlemachineshop.com which is also the newer revision(same upgrades... 500 watt motor, etc). I quickly canceled that order and got the 7x16 instead for about $100 more and it comes with true inch dials. The microMark comes without all that gunky grease too which the HarborFreight models come with. It was very easy to clean up the oil they put on the MicroMark.

I don't want to derail this thread any further with this so I will start another thread somewhere and link to it here. It would be great if this forum had a tooling or machining thread that was specific to laser host creation and modification.

I was really hoping someone here would have updated their status with the c0 lathes. I am very interested to see how capable they are and see some laser host work with them(heatsinks, or even full hosts). For $73 it would certainly be worth it even if the precision wasn't that great.

Lets have some updates everyone. Or are all of them still setting in their boxes :). Or everyone bought them just to resell them for $$$ ;).

Nice lathe. Does that thing have longitudinal power feed? Whats the lever on the tail stock?
I've got the HF 7x10 and is the red grease that came with it literally took hours to clean off. It was horrible.
