Should We Merge the 445nm With the "Blue" Board

Should we merge this 445nm board with the other "Blue" board

I voted option 3 but then I thought maybe if we could have top levels that divide the types (gas, diode, dpss) and then under each of those have the different wavelengths associated with each type. IDK, just a thought...

after a very long hiatus.... here i'm back again.. (not sure how long i can stick round..) .. but in the meantime..
i'm gonna say this.... damn i've been completely out of the loop... there's a 445nm laser now?!

i voted on the third option... but i don't mind it having its own subforum either.. seems it seems popular enough to warrant its own.

Benm has the right idea. Put the expensive exotics together and let the popular frequencies have their own boards.

i vote option 1. the original blue boad is more specialty and could easily get drowned out. And to be honest, i think our main page is faily clutter free compared to other forums. good size font, advertisements are in order, easy to navigate, and a clearly visible welcome section.

It's been a week. 77 of you have voted. It is pretty evenly divided at this point.

Anyone else?

Peace,

I picked #1 to keep confusion of dpss or diode information from getting misinterpreted within a "Blue" board.

Let me supply a little logic to my choice of number 1. If someone is a fairly new member, they probably want to find out about the 445 lasers because that is what they saw. So having the 445s have their own section means that it is easily accessible by the new members. Next I would think these members would branch out to the green and red lasers, and also bluray. Those all have their own section as well. By that time though, they will have heard enough to know about the more exotic wavelengths, and they can check out that area. If you combine the blues, however, any and all information anyone might want to find on the more rare wavelengths will be almost impossible to find. Both options 2 and 3 would create pretty bad organizational/clutter problems in the new boards because of 445's presence.

If you had Brad Pitt, Albert Einstein, and Galileo all in a room and you let in 500 people, 450 of those people or more will flock to Brad Pitt and any people trying to talk to Einstein or Galileo will be hard pressed to do so. If you put Brad Pitt in one room, however, and Einstein and Galileo in another, you will keep the fanatics satisfied with Pitt while the 50 or so interested in E and G will be able to have a very intelectual and stimulating discussion and won't be drowned out by screaming women.

Just my 2 cents, and sorry for the block of text.

Peace,
Isaac

Well, it looks like we are not really moving in one way or the other just yet

52% vs 48%

We'll probably look at this again later ;)

Thanks to all who provided input :bday:

Peace,
