not to disagree, but anything under ambient temperature will gather some condensation, and maybe just to be on the safe side, you could seal the module with silicon or something?
 
Things - I will yeild to greater knowledge ANY time ! I was running along the thread of thought that if you had a fan on the heatsink/TEC combo, it would prevent the condensation from bulding up, due to the airflow ? Please educate me :-)

Actually that is only partially true. Condensation will happen when a module is cooled below the ambient air's dew point. I have cooled my module well below the ambient temperature and there has been no condensation. Following is a calculator that will help you determine how much you can cool your module and not have to worry about condensation:

i like what you guys are talking about, but can i buy a driver and 2 diodes from the same person.

it would be great to get them in the same package.

Well Senkat can provide you the Diodes and the parts to make the driver with yourself and that way you will get more satisfaction and learn a bit more. 8-)
 
if you read my earlier comments, I said I don't have a soldering iron to do fine work with. Its a big ugly soldering iron for bigger stuff.

Hey, I have a big soldering iron too, and it has a fat chisel tip! I could still solder wires to a surface-mount 7404 chip (14 pin) even though the tip was as wide as the chip itself!
However, the chip refused to work anymore after I soldered it   ::)

ROFL !! For those that do NOT have a soldering iron - you can purchase them for less than $10 at Radio Shack...if one is not near you, then I can add that to your kit as well !

If I may interject here, if you want this to be a good experience and plan on sticking with this hobby, there is no better experience and satisfaction that you can get building your own circuits. You can get a soldering iron for $8.00 at Radio Shack and you can get a PC board from Radio Shack for a couple of bucks. You will also want to get a multimeter and you can get a decent one cheap off of ebay.

Greg is being nice enough to supply you with the parts you need. I would not expect him to do everything for you. This is not what this hobby is about. Please don't take what I am saying to be mean or cold. I want you and everyone else to experience the satisfaction, and I am sure many of us feel the same way. :)

So you want this to be a nice big piece? Do you care for anything else other than it being just completely done? I could fix up a couple of them for an operating range of approximately 15mA to 500mA drive. You will need to supply a regulated 6V input. If you don't want to you a more expensive and regulated supply, I can get it made with 2 stage regulation. It will regulate voltage AND current, but will need a 9V input. Take your pick, let me know, via PM or on here. I'm sure we can work out something. As about the LD's, you'd have to talk to SenKat about those. It would be pointless for me to buy them and then ship them to you once they come when you can just have him ship them out to you.

The PCB I would have this all put on would be about 1.4" X 1.5". It will also have risers on the edges so you can mount it anywhere if you'd like ;)
