I bit the bullet and picked up a Spiker 7W a couple weeks ago along with the lightsaber attachment, beam expander and a couple of tripod clamps. This thing is solid and I love the stainless construction. The box leaves a bit to be desired, but it's better than nothing. The divergence is a lot higher than the 7A75 diode in my Thor Ultra, but the beam expander helps this out a lot and makes it a must have.

I opted for the single mode driver and G2 lens after speaking with Sanwu's customer service via facebook, since the multi mode driver sacrifices a tiny amount of power. Plus since I already have multi mode on another laser which largely goes unused, I'll take the slight bump in output.

The 60 second duty cycle recommendation is definitely something to adhere to though, as this laser gets HOT and fast. Not necessarily a problem, but was definitely surprised as to how hot it gets. The laser head houses the lens and is adjustable, however the head will come off completely if unscrewed too much. Since this is the case, I did order another head for the G7 lens for when I feel like swapping lenses.

Overall, I love it. It's a beast and the build quality is excellent and Sanwu's customer service has been top notch. Couldn't ask for more.

Lightsaber attachment. Totally worth the extra $18...

Here's a couple of LPM tests I did with astralist's LPM. Testing out at 7.5W. Makes short work of brown beer bottles. :D

You sure did a number on that bottle. That saber attachment does catch the eye, that's for sure. The older one's used to be just clear acrylic but now it looks like Sanwu has new ones that are etched inside, I hadn't seen that before.

That spiker is one good looking laser, Brewdiver; that lightsaber attachment definitely looks like it's well worth the $18 that it costs.
Thanks for sharing your pics of this monster!

Impressive unit:):) Enjoy that baby..
Curious as why the open can NUM44?
They sell beer in a plastic bottle?:undecided::thinking:

Thanks for the laser review!

Op mounted our stainless spiker adapter on the lightsaber attachment, it's what making it looks much better.

The spiker adaptor also works for other laser series as well, even the laser pointers that we have.

just an of topic question for knowledge, are the decanned nubm44 diode degrade like the rest of the nubmxx series diodes?

That was a glass bottle ;)

The brown color of the glass absorbs enough light where it will heat and crack the glass as you rotate the bottle, similar to how you can "cut" a bottle with a piece of string when you light it on fire.

I would think so?
RedCowBoy would probably know best:undecided:

Double post here..
Well that's a new one on me:eg::beer:
Never saw that glass cutting before in my 2 plus years:thinking:
I also wondered because I looked closely and didn't see any of the usual plastic bubbling.
So the trick is to turn the bottle properly before it cracks the whole bottle?
On another note I knew beer and plastic has to be a no no..

Podo, Brewdivers build looked so good with your lightsaber attachment, I had to go and order one from Sanwu! :yh:
