I'm very impressed with your work, these are amazing hosts. Can you please tell me, is it possible to make something in the 465nm - 473nm range in 100mw - 200mw? I see these wavelengths available often, but only in very high-powered pointers.

The best or at least most economical way would be to underdrive a 465nm diode such as the N465 or NUBM07E. Otherwise you are dealing with expensive and harder to get hold of single mode diodes.

Thank you for the reply. I saw that Sanwu offers a 150mw 450nm, but not a low-powered 465nm or 473nm, so I figured I'd ask around to see if anything else was available :)

465nm is probably closest to what I'm looking for, but I've never seen one in person so I'm not sure. Pictures always look a little off from real life.

No problem. Yes, Sanwu wouldn't offer 465 in a lower power pocket laser because of the problem you are having. They are high-power multimodes. They do it in their larger and more powerful lasers.

This is a closeish representation of 465nm. It is a lovely blue. Not sky blue, but close to modern day emergency services lights. I'm in the UK so we have blue lights. It doesn't have any of that violet hue like 445/450nm.

That pic is beautiful, thank you for sharing it. I guess for now I will stick with other wavelengths. I suppose we are fortunate to have access to the low-powered 488nm and 492nm diodes currently. Someone was saying here that those would eventually run out as well.

You're welcome. Yes, I have two cyans and they are both beautiful. The colour difference between them can be drastic despite the low wavelength separation. Not sure on whether the supply is sustainable or not, I'm hoping they are not being depleted.

It should be noted that using anything above 5mW in public spaces is to be avoided. One thing I wish I could do more in my area is a night beam shot into the sky. However this I have to limit big time. Too urban and too much air traffic.

We have a big private yard etc, but I like to be extra-cautious. Anything class IV I don't trust outside, personally, anywhere, because if someone trespasses onto your property in the US and gets hurt, they can still sue you and win. Plus, in order to even show it off privately, I'd need to buy another pair of $50 glasses for everyone, so there's a couple hundred spent for about 30 seconds worth of their interest lol.

I'll probably end up getting a one-point-whatever watt 465nm limited to 250mw, or something like that.

Cool, using this in your private yard should be no issue at all. Good to see safety consideration in mind.

Nice works, Rich!! Your hosts keep getting better and better!
PS
I received the switches; thanks again!!
SGD🥃
Hi SGD,
Thank You I try, Hope those switches work out for you. I will be working on some copper pens . 1X10440 /2X10440's
like the hosts Sinner used to make . and are for lower power SM diodes. Set up diode ,driver and spring configuration .
They also can be powder coated with a high gloss clear finish..

Recap...
Did a prototype this morning just needs to be tweaked up a bit . It over all is 5-1/2 in. x 5/8 at the business end and 5/16 batty tube .
