Hey, Paul!! Just been busy with other stuff. But, I’m always lookin in on what everyone’s up too . Recently I had to replace the M101U29 diode in the Super Pointer pen. It didn’t last long, that first diode. Good thing I had bought 5 lol. But I did reduce the current a bit so maybe she’ll be ok.

Yeah, I bought ten of those several years ago. Still have five left. They were and still are dirt cheap. I can't remember off the top of my head what the maximum current should be, but I'm sure 300 mA would be fine.

What is the OD of the heat sink? My best guess is 4.5 to 5 cm. I do like the copper core. Being able to take two 18350s makes the choice of drivers far more diverse.

The sink ir made of 1-1/8 bar stock, battery tube 1"

I haven't been around this forum for a long time, but when I heard of the new 490nm diodes I couldn't resist and of course Rich was up for the task. Thanks for your hard work and patience!

Very nice laser. It is difficult to tell the wavelength from photos, but if it is cyan instead of light blue, it is likely at or above 490nm. Some of these diodes have measured as low as 486.5nm or as high as 492.5nm.

Yea i tried to capture it as closely as I could. Maybe a little more blue but likely 490nm or pretty close. Beautiful color. Makes me miss my argens I had to leave behind when I moved.
