I was looking for green laser goggles and came across this:
Professional Anti Green Laser Glassess $7.99 - Free Shipping
They look exactly as the O-like ones (532nm green laser safety goggle£*>Laser Accessories£*>Laser&lighting products£*>www.0-like.com) and I bet they are made in the same factory, but $23 cheaper with shipping.
It seems to me that the fact that they are of red color is a sufficient guarantee that they can provide sufficient protection and block unwanted spectra. What's your take on this, guys?
I guess the preciousness of the eyesight and irreversibility of its damage are enough to scare people into buying more expensive stuff from supposedly more reputable sources, e.g. these:

But the DragonLaser goggles aren't certified so it's only their name to make the goggles look better.
Do you know where one can buy certified goggles? Thanks.

Go for dragonlasers if you order something other, don't buy the 8$ goggles... Invest slighty more so u can keep you eyes safe

:))))))))) I did honestly searched first and didn't find much :)) I only found a more or less applicabel thread by browsing as it was titled "googles" :)))
 
and yes I will go for Dragonlaser's, nothwithstanding my preference to rational explanations. But in the case of the eyesight, one of the most precious things one has, I am willing to pay more, even if it's paying for superstition :)
 
i ordered one of these $8 focalprice for review a month ago but it lost in the mail :undecided:
if you want good goggles go with dragonlasers and if you real certified goggles go to http://store.oemlasersystems.com

I would not order something like that from focal. They misadvertise their items and have the worst customer support ever.
 
Find the thread 10 dollar safety glasses its quite extensive. Anyways the low od hobby glasses from oem laser systems will protect you from green and blu ray. Best of all a member on lpf said you can get the goggle style, as in ski goggle type goggles that protect against lasers. No way a stray beam will ever hurt you
 
I know it is easy to want to find the cheapest item you can get for everything, but we can't do that with goggles. A certified set of goggles really is mandatory for this hobby because we only get one set of eyes, it will only cost you about $50.

it's interesting that the reflected dot is seen quite bright thru the frontal part of the goggles

Paper has better fluorescence properties than the goggles, and the yellow fluorescent light shines through.
