That noise is actually the 2 yellow TEC chips in the driver.

I have finally isolated the source of the sound...it isn't in the laser head OR the driver, it comes from the power supply.

I had thought it was coming from the laser head this morning because the laser head was on the same side of my own head as the power supply; then I put my ear directly up to each component and pinned it down to the power supply itself (which will be noted in tomorrow morning's update of that review on this BBS and the one I published on my website as well).

The driver assembly and laser head are (for all intents and purposes anyway) completely silent.

Wow really ? the 2 yellow TEC chips are what make the mosquito tone on mine.

On mine, the buzzing is much lower in frequency than a mosquito's whine; it's more like the buzzing made by a bluebottle fly (those big shiny blue f****rs that are generally attracted to poop) or even a honeybee. :o

That wavelength is beautiful.

It looks like a Mini Blue Star.

Is the beam visible at only 5 milliwatts ?

I think I would like to have various Colors of 5 milliwatt no goggles Lasers which have visible beams...and hoping the exotic color Direct Diodes come down in price.

I may start with a 515 or 520..then a Blue but a Blue 488nm Diode is probably over $1000 right ?

Also some Direct Diodes will not lase at 5 milliwatts ...right ?
