Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

I live in Canada, and have had a couple other American member offer to take a look.
If I need to have you look at it though i will let you know.
I like all of these other members who are trying to help, this is a great forum and I just wish I had bought from them instead.

By all means if you choose "not" to send it to the seller (which I am not suggesting you do) try to at least find someone nearby who will take a look at it.

I only offered to look at it if it did not cost you shipping money or almost none. Canada is kind of far so I will let you decide what you want to do with it.

Either way I hope you can get this settled with the seller and if not I hope you at least get a working laser.

Good luck my friend!

Edit: This means I am not interested in looking at it anymore. I am sure you will find someone in Canada who will take care of you.

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

Thanks for the info Ben !

upperlevel :

So now that i know that the heatsink is not press fit i can easily solder on the diode leads ! I have soldered on diodes many time and never destroyed the diode ! If you want send it to another member ! No problem with me ! Your choice !

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

no offense bw... but the solder connections are not resale quality. since you are no longer in this for the hobby aspect i recommend you keep your customer happy since you obviously have some fault in this matter. to expect your customer to pay shipping and repair is insane. it looks like you arent even using silicone wire?

while, heat shrink tubing thermal compound, silicone wire aren't mandatory it is nice to have. and as a seller you should be keeping up with competition.

Agree with you chipdouglas ! 100%

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

I think he tried to resolder it and thats what bridged the pins. They werent bridged in the first place obviously because it worked. I don't believe that his dad didn't even try. I think that is why he wont send it back to me.

And who said im not in it for the hobby?

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

so you think he messed with the solder of the red (positive) too?

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

Was there never any heatshrink tubing on the diode pins? That's how I killed one of my first 445s. Very easy to do

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

This is ludicrous. I never soldered anything nor did my father. NEVER HAPPENED.
This is what I have been dealing with though, him telling em it's all my fault./

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

jake: I never do. Never caused any problems for me before.

upperlevel: At one point you weren't sure if it was your fault.

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

upperlevel what have you choosed ? Will you send to somebody ?

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

I still think he should send it back to me.

Him refusing to do so is ridicules

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

I think sending it to you is the best thing but if you charge him for shipping and for the replacement parts i dont think he will !

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

Please don't pester him. He already knows you are willing to fix the laser for him. I'm sure he will let you know "should" he choose someone else besides the seller.

Re: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with 'bhwollen'

I still think it doesn't need parts to be fixed just little solder care.

it's ridiculous for him to have to pay shipping and repair fees. you don't dispute that when he got it it didn't work. and him shaking it and it working for a brief second makes sense after looking at the solder job.
