Real question about burning!

If you treat a project with the safety and respect and don't leave any thing to chance, you can bulid anything without harming yourself or others!

I'm new with lasers so I would still like an answer?

If I put some thing on a mirror and shot a laser at it, would the laser bounce Back and heat it a bit more? And if it was right above a mirror can it reflect back and damage the laser?

It would be pointless to use a mirror, the beam/dot should hit the weed, not go through and be reflected.
And yes, the laser would be damaged by it's own beam.
 
First off: this thread brought a smile to my face! Second, my view here is that if you are using a 250mW, you will need it focused VERY well to smoke the ganja. With it focused that well, however, it will only smoke a very small precise needle point area, and as such you will get a really slow draw on your pipe/bong/whatever. Although lighting up with a laser would be the bitchinest thing to do ever!

I made a Woden box with two holes! One on top, for the laser. The other on the bottom side wall, for a test tube!
I just need my o-lite 250mw laser and I will assemble it.

It's just a project. I'm not talking about anything that's offensive. I just want to post my experiment with a laser.

I'll just call it <cough> from now on...

smoking weed isn't legal in california. i don't think you are from here. "i am from USA california" who speaks like that?
 
Does anyone see any problems with my prototype? Anything unsafe? Or any ideas? The laser will point down from the top of the box. About an inch away, the test tube will be laying flat. The opening will be outside of the box so no smoke will ever affect the laser!

I just hope I don't burn out the laser by putting it too close to the glass!
 
Yes I'm new to this yes. But your wrong under ca. law a dr. can perscribe medical marijuana to any patient for a number of different reasons. I am from castaic ca. Though I don't know why I would lie!?!?

Here is a pic, because I don't think chipdouglas would belive something he can't see!

What's the best distance for burning? Right next to the laser pointer? Or an inch away? Two inches? I need your brains!!!!

You never said it was an old Card.
Just blackout the info you don't want anyone to see.
Actually the only thing we would need is your patient number.

Back on topic then... From what I can see you will have a hard time using a laser with that tube. It's going to reflect differently each time and not having a steady hand won't help either. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
