Re: new Sharp 495nm diode(after testing it confirmed just 488nm)

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

I just ordered one too. Listing said almost gone and 5 sold within the last hour... wonder who that was

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

OOHHhh. I have never been able to change the shipping on an eBay invoice after payment has been made. You might be in for a wait as it takes at least 15 days to get them here in Washington from China.

I couldn't choose another option exept the normal one
I wrote him, lets see. If not, I will wait....

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

Jeez, 15 sold w/ only 7 left. Hopefully these show up at a later date or this supplier re-lists a sales posting when I have the cash to make a build with them!

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

Wow, we know how to drain a source don't we. :D
I'm also keeping an eye on this.

Now more than 10 are available again ;) . I would wait till the 5 diodes I ordered arrive, spectro them and maybe order some more, depending on the WL.

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

I forget who it was, but someone here offered $30.00 each for one of these diodes yesterday and got it accepted. Don't know if this still applies..... just throwing it out there.

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

Just received this baby, Now to find a low current driver maybe a xboost v7

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

Yes it would but no luck there mate, this one was spectroed at 488. Still nice though since I'm a blue guy any more green and I doubt I'll like it!

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

As promised, the response from Newgazer. I asked whether or not all diodes in his stock were the diodes we want.

Dear,

Per the cemera enlarge picture our version is SB1473N91 .

Thanks for the remding!

Regards,
Reed

Well, it seems he is making the statement that all of his diodes are SB1473N91's. So good news.

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

Sorry RCB, these are the <505's that I was on about. Maybe the 505's should be kept separate to this thread as it is could get confusing.

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

It's ok, I have been reading, just thinking a 495 would be an interesting beam right at the blue/green line, sort of an aquamarine, it could be really neato for a while, but I bet the bright blue that looks almost white will be the long run winner, somewhere around 491nm.

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

Anything between 485-505 has a drastic change in colour every couple of nm, so that entire band is very interesting to me.
I would love 490nm exact. Depending on the individual that is the true cyan sweet-spot. I've always found 498nm quite special. :)
