Re: new Sharp 495nm diode(after testing it confirmed just 488nm)

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

That effect also happens on my monitor. Guess I'll have to wait till they become available again to see it for myself :eg:

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

Wow, what an amazing colour. With that green hint you are looking at ~492nm.
Brilliant diode!

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

I gotta say. The color on the monitor I edited those photos on made it look blue, but on my sRGB monitor it's much more green than it is... Oh boy. When I do my full review, I'll be editing the pics on this screen I suppose...

When I send this to paul, I'm betting 490nm on the mark. It's not different enough from 488 to make me think it's any higher. But I'm not sending it to paul until I have a few other things to go along with ready...

Do you have a specific current and driver in mind for this diode, Have you already built it or it's on your PSU!

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

I threw this straight into a C6 with the nano driver set to 275mA. It's without a doubt another sharp diode just like the 480's and 505's :)

What's the ratted current!
What do you mean by that, it's not like they have SHARP written on them, you don't mean the colour similar to the 473,s. So not sure what u mean!

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

Rated current is 125mA. I'm just saying that it handles more than double the current without breaking a sweat, just like the other diodes Sharp just came out with.

That explains it, I was viewing in sRGB as well.
This is exciting. Can't wait for the tests from Paul. Good job Zraffleticket! Also thank you Paul for testing these new diodes out for us all.

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

It's my pleasure. Really. I love getting all this knowledge first hand.

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

Plus, who doesn't want to get their hands on new diodes. :p

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

^ Exactly ;)

Edit: Trying to find some better settings for coloring... I'm getting there...

Yes, what is not to like about that color, More,More!

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

is there any sign of these being sold again? i would do anything to get one of these wavelengths :p

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode

Not the ones labeled 495, but sharp has some 488's on the way and we may have a lead for $280 osram 488's
