RC Toys?

I was zooming my little pico-copter all over the house last night again...damn they are fun as hell ! I'm gonna have to post up a "wanted" list for Christmas ideas for my family to get me :P hehehehehe !

its hard to believe, but the Air Hogs Aero Ace is an amazing plane. its 30 bucks, but so easy to control and it can be flown in tight spaces. its a nice plane

sorry for double posting but i just made a air powered remote control car out of the top half of my picooz ill try and get pictures up soon it looks terrible but works

I have a Walkera 60 completely upgraded with a t-rex retrofited aluminum head, align blushless motor, castle esc, thunderpower Lipo, futaba gyro, futaba 2.4 radio system, and carbon fiber blades. I've also rebuilt it about 50 times! It seems the electronics are always salvagable but the main gear, blades, frame and the rest of the heli gets destroyed when crashed. I have had it for a little over a year now and my skills have greatly improved. My teacher is trial and error! Costs me lots of $$$ but like I always say, a cool hobby is an expensive one! ;) I like to fly it at the mountains over a cliff so I have lots of time for recovery if I screw up. The ground is a heli's worst enemy! I will post some pictures a little later.

Plus, I have a 1/18 scale duratrax vendetta rc car with a 7.4v lipo, brushless motor and esc. That little car flys! I've had to upgrade the driveshafts because they keep snaping under so much pressure, but finally got it right.

I have a Nitro Rustler with an upgraded 3.3 motor, which is just TOOOO much! The front wheels don't like to stay on the ground! The thing goes about 80mph (Ive clocked it at 50 but was hardly on the throttle). But I've done too much dirt driving and now the cylinder is scored. :'( It puts off 1/8 the power it used to but hey, the rebuild only costs $100. It's been out of commission for about 8 months now because I haven't got around to fixing it. Oh well, I love my other electric RC car and heli!

Well i have an AXE CP R/C Heli that im just learning to fly so im crashing a lot

And i HAD a Nitro Rustler with a 2.2 motor but i sold it to buy my 1st green laser

did i hear air powered rc car.......

my newest creation. edf car. runs at 90 amps 14.8 volts of lipo power. it can peak at 1500W (blowing my homework everywere in the procces) i'm running it full speed for the first time this weekend (i'v only had a tiny patio to test) and with about 2 horse power it should move quite fast (hopefully). i spent allot of money on it but as it is diy i can re-encarnate the bits into something else later. hers a pic

Wow! That’s unique! But I must ask... why didn’t you utilize the power for a transmitted drive via a huge blushless motor straight to the axles? How does it stop? Reverse thrust? The thing has wheels.... powered by air.... That thing would be bitchen as a hovercraft! Not trying to bash your design, actually I'm super intrigued. I've always wanted to build a car with treads, like that "Fast-trax" thing from long ago. How does it run? I bet it pretty sluggish off the start, unless you put it up against a wall or something for launching. Anyway, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with crazy... different...(sorry)...ideas!

Ok, I will post some pictures soon of my rc toys, but first I want to describe one of my creations. I was never able to perfect it because of social issues, but here it goes: Have you seen the move the Jackel? Gave me the idea for one of my projects… I built a rc paintball gun turret. It used a miniature 12v battery with 2 servos found in a junk yard made for corvette flip-up head lights for X & Y axis (mixed via 6ch receiver & transmitter) with a wireless camera with a crosshair, a solenoid actuator for the trigger (semi automatic) and a car fog lamp for illumination in night (inferred probably would've worked better, or at least more discreetly). I installed it all on a tripod from a halogen light stand. It was actually amazingly simple and it worked quite well, in lieu of the fact that the paintball gun sucked and I never had a chance to fine-tune it. I still have it stored away at my folks house in hopes that one day I will get to complete it.

Not to compete, I just completely forgot about it until I saw your DIY RC toy!

eys my design is a bit abstract..... but the motors are cheap and powerfull. yes the acceleration is poor but even in practice runs i can see the potential for some good speed. as far as direct axil drive... there is a litle story to go with that:

one day im thinking of something to make. a car i thought, yes that will be good. I ordered a motor some gears and a speed controller. a swift 4 weeks later hong kong came through and my bits had arived. strait in there, vandelising a rc toy for axils and body - "but how will the gears be held" - "simple" i said - i swiftly knocked up a gear box from acrilic sheeting and put the gears in. it was done. i test the motor in the car and as if by magic ---- IT DITN'T WORK >:( . many months of waiting and building all pay off -- becuase as i see it, i am investing my money and time in cold hard, ever so aginising, fustration!

that is my endering story of my love affair with gears. so i thought lets use air instead (no gears yippy ;D)

I love that movie and that gun.... What you have done is Awesome!!! you have got to post some pics of it

I didn't take too good of pictures, but here is what I got...
