I just randomly stumbled upon there when browsing teh interwebs.

Three things struck me when looking at their site:

1) They are an Australian based company.
2) They sell Wicked Laser products (but other things too).
3) There is a Spyder II GX for $1100... as compared to the $1700 from Wicked Laser site. :-?

Oh, and there is a pretty neat 100-200kW (Yes, kW, not mW) red laser for ~$2700. Which is a lot of bang for your buck.

Anyone had any dealings with these guys before?

I would think that 200,000 watts would be good for more than just "sintering" metal, more like cutting and destroying. Maybe the simply meant 200 watts.

Seems kinda fishy.

Even 100-200W red laser for $2,700 is very impressive.

Man, a 100-200kW laser :o Raises the question, should you buy a car or a laser that could burn through a brick wall? lol

And another thing... If there really were 200kW lasers in the size of something that could be fit into a backpack, I am SURE that as a professional soldier, I would know how to field clean it and fix minor malfunctions by now.

Militaries would bust a NUT for weapons like that!

Well, you still need to power it ;) A 200kW laser won't work on AAA's ;)

Hence the backpack. We're used to toting around 80lbs bags. lol

Hooray for car batteries and step-up circuits, eh? :D

And I think it's obvious that these guys are scammers. Let's just leave it at that.

That's what I thought, but then there is the Spyder II GX.

It's a pretty decent laser, certainly not in league with other lasers you get from scam sites. The main problem is that it is seriously overpriced, not that it's a bad laser (though the 200-300mW thing is pretty weird).

Yet these guys offer it for a lot cheaper than anywhere I've seen :-?

Rbglasers.com was register by Inderjit singh on April 2, 2008. Inderjit is a womans name in Indian. There is a Rgblasers.com in Hungary. I wonder if this is a, "Very sorry for most unfortunate problem. Police take my lasers, your money and records. As you may not know handheld lasers are illegal in Australia." And what the hell is this production laser system side by side with the Spyder ll? Is the big production model there to add legitimacy to the handheld. And the tracking number box on the home page. It stinks.

Mybad: Inderjit is also a mans name in Indian. I work with an Inderjit. She is beautiful Indian woman.

Well, even at 100-200 Watts, that's a really powerful red laser. At a very decent price. No customs problems either.

Though, unfortunately I'm not willing to risk that much money :) Especially since there really isn't much room for me to play around with such a high power laser.

Anyone else willing to check this out? I mean, $2700 is a lot of money... but 100 Watts is a LOT of Watts :)

So now it is 100 Megawatts? Just MAYBE they meant milliwatts.

If they stupid enough to miss the power of the laser by a factor of 1000000, they are too stupid to handle $1100 for one of their Spyders.

sorry to burst your bubble, but you're not getting 200 watts of red for $2700.... not even close

Yeah, I know, that's why I'm sure as heck not buying anything from that company ;) I'd rather stick with the tried and true sites :)

Can you see if they have any of those megawatt deuterium-fluoride MIRACL lasers for sale?

It's clearly a typo. The laser system they are describing is manufactured by CNI and is a 200mW 671nm DPSS system. It's hard to tell exactly what you will get as they intro picture is an MRL-III by CNI, the description picture is an MRL-H model by CNI and the dimension information picture is of a driver CNI no longer manufactures.

Only the MRL-III model operates at the stated output so who knows?
