I took a cheap R/C toy, used its electronics, and a cheap garage sale “Caterpillar dirt mover” toy to create my schweet little R/C Tank.
It can climb up hills up to like 50 degrees before slipping.
It goes at about 3mph.
To give you an idea on size, it's about 3 inches tall.

I cant find a pic of the dirt mover toy, but the real one looks like:

The RC toy looked like:

BTW, over-volting DC motors is fun...

Yeah... but those cheap motors don't use carbon brushes just a copper alloy
metal brush... and as you increase the voltage to the motor the metal brushes
start to arc and it won't be long until the motors fail...
(been there done that.....)

Go brushless! I'm sure you could find some that are small enough. Of course it would mean scrapping your current electronics and popping in a receiver and speed control... with a transmitter to match.

Very cool... Are you going to mount a laser on it?
:lasergun:

Maybe, I if I did I would need to upgrade the R/C to hobby grade system so I could remotely aim with a pan/tilt system, and maybe a focusing servo...
If I did that, I would also need a wireless camera, and a smaller laser to aim with...
I would also need to get a remote solenoid to turn on/off the big laser…
This just got expensive. :can:

Awesome little project!

Yes, I agree. A laser should be mounted on it, maybe 2 aixiz modules..

When I bought the $10 crane toy, I was envisioning putting an airsoft pistol on the top... Oh well.
Its still awesome.

I agree. Considering what you started with it came out totally awesome!:yh: Keep us posted of any upgrades or improvements.

Wow your lucky It got expensive about ten min after I logged on the very first time LOL
