Powerful IR lasers (burning)

Hi guys,

I'm new at this forum as you can see and I'm also interested in IR lasers for experiments. I've found a High Power Laser Diode Bar 100W 808nm UMB QTY 30 (ebay item #110241272393).

I would like to get your opinion on this one.

By the way, when I try to post the link, it says I can't post links. I hope we won't miss a good deal here... :'(

Thanks.

this is not the right thread to post questions.

using a bar is not recommended if this is your first time. you will most likely break everything, no offense.

a quick thread in the "Experiments and Modifications" section should help. many experienced members will be able to help you out over there.

you cannot post links until you have at least 20 posts.

well, we are currently in the lead with a bid of $102.50. $40 shipping to me brings it down to $28 a pop if we win. but there is also shipping to you....

Idont think I will go higher than the current maximum bid I have set.

that is outside my comfort zone. specially given my financial sitch

well, outbid AGAIN!!!! I should have picked one of these babies up when he kept re listing them 1 after another with no luck...

next time, I am gonna wait untill the last hour or so, and if the price is OK, I will go in for the kill.

$102.50... i remember that number...
oh crap
I have a feeling it was you I was bidding against... O_O
oops.
I bid up to $150. AMK I'm happy to get them shipped straight to you if you send me the money so i can paypal the dude. So you can continue this.
really sorry...

(I would be B***3)

I dont see a B***3, I see a u***i...

maybe ebay is generating random things for everyone to hide the real username....

when I found someone bidding $100, I thought: "wait a min, is this blue trying to prove his point that these end for a lot of money? Nah, he wouldn't do that"

It turns out you weren't trying to do that, but you were bidding!!! LOL this is so complicated....

nexttime, we should gather up and bid together...

the biggest thing on these is to not bid at all until the last few minutes and then throw in a bid for the ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM AMOUNT YOU ARE WILLING TO SPEND.  in that last minute folks have to guess what your highest bid is going to be and 99% of the time will end up winning.

If you bid at the beginning all your doing is driving up the price prematurely. Makes things a lot more expensive in the end.

This is the "sniping" program I use. A five second lead time is usually sufficient.

I set the highest price I am willing to pay for an item, and forget about it. No emotional bidding. No driving up the price. If someone bids more than In am willing to pay, so be it. It costs me $0.35 per bid for peace of mind (and quite often lower priced wins).

This is the most dissorganized GB ive seen yet.. No offence, but may I offer some advice? If you have 5 people for one item. Begin with determining each members max that they want to spend for one 1 unit. Combine all the numbers including shipping, as sunking always ships lots of 5 at that price. Find an auction with no or 1 bid, DONT ENTER ANYTHING! When the last minute approaches submit your agreed group total last 20seconds is best). It will not show anybody your max entered ex 125. it will instead only bid the minimum required. If someone bid 20.00and you enter 125. they will only see 20.50. If they try to bid back 25. ebay will submit 25.50. if they stop bidding at 26. you will only pay 26.50 You dont need any software to do this.

Yeah, but if you do it that way (using eBay's proxy bid) you still have to be at your computer 20 seconds before the end of the auction. Since you're already sitting at the computer the tendency is to sit and watch. I agree that a pre-agreed price is essential, but "watching" the auction does strange things to some people. I've sold a $20 rock for $65 because two guys got into a bidding war. If either of them had taken the time to email me, they could have both gotten a $20 rock.

Well thats just it ,one or the other its not dificult to lose, but its equaly easy to win. ;)

Well I've ended up with them for $112.50.
I'd be entirely happy to let amkdeath take them (get them shipped to him etc) as I won one individually from a separate seller. I'll PM him.
