Post your random pics!

I suspected it would be tube but you never know, interesting stuff.

I was just looking at this 2 Megawatt that's solid state, but it's only radio, your waveguide will no doubt be sub micrometer precision.

Nice, incredible amount of power for solid state, didn’t know anyone had done that.

Have you looked at rent in Boston, it's obscene from what I have seen just taking a quick look, have you found anything yet ?

Obscene in a good way? I spent most of my time in Cambridge

I'm not familiar with Boston, just curious what you have found, I saw 2000.00 a month plus extra for a parking space in town.

Oh, rent, it’s very high to me, too high. 2K a month is low, many much higher.

Yea I saw 2500 - 4500 in town apts with 400 a month for 1 parking space or 650 for a 2 car parking space, that's insane to me.

It is crazy and the high rent is causing me pause, the pay is good, but it is diminished by high rent.

You can commute, if you don't mind some extra time in traffic every day you can likely find a place for half that, but if you want a 15 min trip to work then it might mean half your after tax pay in rent, but I just took a quick look at prices, you can maybe find a good deal and work out an off peak commute time, or you might be able to work from home some days, I don't know what you will be doing most days.

Also San Diego should be less expensive so it's only a year in Boston.

If you are going to be working for the university they may have housing for you there. Have you asked about that? University staff often get perks like living expenses paid.

OMG, what’s next? Very cool, next most higher end phones will have lasers in them.

Some already do - I know a couple of the "face-scanner" phones like the recent iPhones use a near infra-red VCSEL laser to project a grid of dots onto the users face to aid the camera in scanning it properly!
