I'm deffinately an alien here phoning home. Nothing unusual in the skies here. Yep wearing bullet proof vest and helmet when traveling but not when working unless incoming fire.

I did not know there were wells burning in Kurdistan until I saw them myself, but this is old news.

We've had hot weather recently reaching up to 47°C (117°F) ,
so you can imagine how nice a visit to the beach is in late afternoon.
(and now we've got a week's worth of rain coming...)

Here's a pano on my iPhone taken at a local spot that we visit with my family to enjoy our summer evenings.

That looks gorgeous! Although that's a little hot for my taste ... well, 20 degrees or so too hot .

We got down to -37C or so today, had been unseasonably warm the last couple weeks. Should have snapped a picture this morning, you can see how cold it is when it's that cold.

Last time I was there during Mardi Gras was 1970. It was a lot of fun back in those days. I doubt I'll get back there in this life. I'm sure the hurricane did damage that has not been repaired to this day.
