Post Your GUN (PICS)

Its a man thing, LOL. I used to call it the re-animator, because when you shot a bird, you can shot it again on the ground, and it would fly back up in the air from the force of the gun.

I know, not one of my proudest moments. Its been years since I shot anything.

^^^ Waste om money IMO,
why would you need a handgun with that kind of firepower, if it is impossible to use

My Colt is just a powerful as the Desert Eagle, you never know when a sabertooth squirrel is going to attack!

There are a lot more powerful handguns out there, I could convert my Desert Eagle to a 50 cal AE, but it would cost $1.50 everytime I squeezed the trigger.
one of my buddies has a Taurus 45-70 revolver, I have never shot it and don't really know if I want to.

You collect your things and I collect mine. But my guns that I have I use, I can use my 44mag for deer hunting and have actually killed one with my Colt.

I have been offered $1250.00 for my Colt, I only paid $375 for it new and won't sell it that's my favorite and next is the baby Eagle.

@T_J I agree the grip is pretty big and the other thing I hate is it kicks the brass straight up and it comes down right into the collar of shirt a burns the shit of my neck, that brass get pretty f*cking hot!
The Colt is more accurate the the DE.

I have been thinking about selling the DE so I can get an AR 10 (308) with a silencer.

EDIT; The only reason I bought the Desert Eagle is to help a friend of mine out so he could pay for an attorney for his divorce, I thought he was going to buy it back but never did and that has been 8 years ago.

Cant recall how the brass flew. I only used it two days, around 15 years ago. I paid $375 used, and sold it for $425.

At the same time my friend brought his .300 mag riffle. At first we all were standing on the right side of the riffle. Then he let one off, and we all looked at each other, and stepped back behind the riffle, LMAO. It left black and blues on our shoulders from the recoil. I tried to buy that, but my friend wouldn't budge.

I have shot a 300 mag, but I don't need one I already have a 7mm mag. I can shoot coyotes and rock chucks all day and it doesn't bother me to shoot it. But when it comes to sighting it in on paper I can only shoot it about 3 times, then I start to flinch. I have had it kick me and the scope cut my eyebrow open and had to get stitches.

A guy that works at a sporting goods store has a 50cal Barret semi auto and it kicks like shooting a 10ga 31/2 mag. But it is sighted in for 1500 yards and is very accurate. I want one, but at 7500$ I just can't justify it.

Yeah, your colt is just as powerfull, and i bet it isnt as big and bulky ;)

They have a gun club in New Hampshire I've always wanted to go to. Every year they host an event where they let you shoot the BIG military guns. It dont know what type they are because I'm not a big gun junkie, but I've seen pictures. These guns are so big, you have to sit in them. I think one was a WW2 anti-aircraft gun. They line up all these junk cars, and you shoot the crap out of them. They have flame throwers, and RPGs too. Its only $800 for the weekend, plus ammo, LOL. The guy I know who went, spent close to $1500.

No it isn't the Colt is very well balanced and only has a 21/2 lb trigger pull, so it is very sensitive and very accurate. I used to shoot about 3 times a week and reloaded my own rounds and was able to hit a beer can at a 100 yards, I haven't shot for quite a while and don't think I could do that now.

The Desert Eagle so not bad it is also decently balanced but not as accurate it only has a 6 inch barrel the Colt has an 8 inch barrel.

The one nice thing about the Desert Eagle is I can change barrels and calibers it will change to a 357mag or a 50cal AE. I cant do that with the Colt.

One of my dads friends is a Colonel in the national guard and he aranged for us to take the boyscouts to a demonstration and we saw tanks firing on targets, RPG's along with some LAWS rockets and I almost forgot hand grenades. When it was all over he asked me what I thougt and I told him " I want some". It was cool, I was about 25 at the time.

I have another friend that has a brother that came back from Vietnam, he managed to keep an M-16 and a Starlite scope, I got to shoot the M-16.
He is still screwed up, he has told me some wild stories from when he was there, still gows his own pot and the cops don't bother him, because he doesn't sell it and he knows how to make booby traps and it scares the hell out of the cops.

I disagree a bit... for two reasons...

First, a desert eagle is not a waste of money because of the firepower. It's a "waste" because it has no utility, but if you buy it for fun then no problem.

Second, I find myself dissatisfied with everything I've shot out of a handgun, all the way up to .357 magnum. I want more firepower. I hear the deagle is actually very controllable as well, thanks its ridiculous mass. I'm a pretty big guy (tall, not wide :p) so I have no problem using larger weapons if it means more firepower/shooting time.

at my local gun range,
once in a blue moon we get to see a gun like the Deagal, i got to hold it and maybe its because im a bit young etc etc but it was just to large and kinda front heavy,
the latest "cool" gun at the gun range was an m14...i thought it was cool, i am only used to seeing standard .303, .308 .22 rifles etc

The reason the Deagle is heavy in the front is so when you shoot it, it keeps the front down. My colt is also front heavy, it stops it from bucking.

I guess for the same reasons we have >1W lasers. There is no practical reasons to have a 1W handheld, yet most of us have one.

Its the power!!!

ahh, cool thanks for the info,
one more thing you may be able to clear up is Bullet sizing...
i still get confused because some of it is .303 and then some of it is like 8mm,9mm etc.
cheers

That is the bullet size, if you get out some calipers and measure a bullet you can figure it out 308 is 0.308, 9mm is 9mm, a 45-70 is a .45 slug with 70 grains of powder. 7MM is .274 a 270 is .270.

Does this help?

Heheh, but you still need to make a distinction ..... as example, from 0.22 inches caliper guns, and 22mm caliper machineguns ..... in some countries, they are both called simply "22 caliper" :p :D

Also, for hunting rifles, why more you decrease the numbers, more the size increase ?

;) :D

i thought it was "caliber"
