I don't have to be shot in the head to know that it's not a good thing to experience. Likewise, I don't have to experience the mind-crippling effects of a psychoactive drug to know that I don't want to be a mindless, drug-addled zombie. I've been around enough stoners (even in my own family) to know that I don't like the effect it has on the human mind. You're right. I haven't used the "magic herb" - hence the fact that I'm able to live my life without my mind and body craving these drugs. You're so brainwashed by the euphoria you experience that you actually believe the delusion that marijuana "expands" your mind and that you aren't actually addicted to it. It slows your mental processes and makes you unable to form a coherent thought. Tobacco addicts feel that tobacco has a positive effect on their minds as well. This is the exact same biological concept. Utter nonsense.

Also, it is yet another Walt Disney urban myth that he was a user of psychoactives. I'm guessing you also believe that he was a Nazi and that his head is frozen in Area 51. His drug of choice was tobacco, which is a disgusting habit itself. He died of lung cancer because he was a life-long smoker. This doesn't make him any less of a legend, but his drug use was an inherently negative act. The difference is, tobacco slowly kills you and imprisons you in addiction, but it doesn't slow your reaction time or forcefully cripple your mind. I have no respect for any drug user, but I have a lot more faith in the ability of someone smoking a cigarette to function as a normal member of society than I do for someone who's stoned out of his mind and spends his days in a high, sitting on a couch and eating Funyuns.

And you don't think it should "run someone's life"? The guy above has an entire section of his kitchen devoted to his hundreds of bongs, and I'm sure he hasn't spent a minute sober in the last decade. It does run his life. He wouldn't be so obsessed with the lifestyle and subculture if it did not. If you can't live a day without smoking weed, then drug addiction DOES run your life.

Regardless of what ridiculous argument you make, you are an inherently broken person if you cannot enjoy your life without crippling your mind with these drugs. There is no justification for it - or for any drug use. We have the capacity to be happy without putting these poisons (this isn't a dramatization - they ARE poisons in the biological sense) in our bodies, and if you require drug use to be happy, then there is a hole somewhere else in your life that needs to be filled with something that does NOT detrimentally affect your mental function.

Skimming over your nonsense that you probably had to spend four hours on wikipedia to retrieve:

1. I noticed you said something about the guy with his kitchen full of bongs, pipes, etc., and I may be mistaken but isn't he a medical user?

2. I do not, by any means, require it to function.

3. I don't think you should be doing this. If you have something to say to me go ahead and take it to a PM, there's not a damn thing wrong with this thread, or the people that use these devices, it's their choice, not yours, now move along and bash someone who gives a hoot and don't waste your time with us, we're obviously too "inherently broken" to care what you have to say about it.

Yea, if you smoke tobacco in it you probably could get addicted :p
But i know 1 thing, that aint tobacco:

@ CHEECH you missed Frank Zappa's name on your list :D

i lived in a small town in washington for a few years and when scanning the phone book for notable names, i nearly sh@t myself when i saw a frank zappa, near my home.

i called him, the best part was it was some older guy, who sounded like his family was around him, was drinking a beer, and completely played along.

wed call him as a joke every once in a while and get into deep synical conversations about the state of the world, the starngest part was he was up to date on everything, could spew a ton of knowledge about anything, and always knew where dweezil zappa was playing at, would always tell me to go when it was local.

to effing funny.

i am not here to make any ridiculous argument to you, in fact i find it kind of funny that you are taking this tone when you came in and started spewing your agenda knowing it would cause some sort of disagreement/flamefest.

you also know that made that first comment wanting to be responded to ;)

i didnt know that an empty life consisted of 40+ hours of truly satisfying work on the main microsoft campus as an engineer, being booked to play music for thousands of people on a weekly basis, with all the gaps filled by this rather rewarding hobby. and instead of hemorrhaging money on the hobby like most, i actually gain quite a bit, as i hold more than one professional laserist client, and run them publicly myself (whatch'all know about a variance ;)

it in no way controls any part of my life, and in fact is so far in the background that really, theres nothing i can do but laugh at you for so quickly judging me and apparently "those like me"
i could be mad, or any sort of malicious, but im not because that would be pointless, not nearly as pointless as walking into a "post your bong thread" knowingly disliking near detesting the type and the lifestyle, so apparently i know my lines.

assuming that anything related consumes any significant portion of my life is fooling yourself, and anyone who reads it...

in fact, im doing much better in any context you want to evaluate than anyone i know my age, so pardon me for being a bit cocky, but anything you've said is unsound, invalid, and mildly delusional.

sorry to go on this rant but to be pointed out, and judged/have assumptions made like that was uncalled for, and although the self-defense post here is too, this time i do feel it was necessary.

some of that glass assisted these shots

Do you ever drink alcohol? That has a detrimental effect on your mental function. What about caffeine? Are you one of those people who needs their morning coffee to get through the day? If so you're depending on mind altering drugs.

I neither drink nor smoke weed (not that I never have).. but I would rather see anyone smoke pot instead of drink alcohol ANY DAY. Alcohol is a hard drug, just because it's legal doesn't change that fact. Alcohol is also responsible for WAYYYY more deaths, destroyed families and childhoods, and violence in general that marijuana. To me, based on the real-world facts, it's no contest.

If you want to hear it from the authorities themselves, ask any police officer who they'd rather deal with: a drunk or a pothead?

The guys I know that smoke are always mellow and to be frank, I don't rightly care if they smoke, because they're not forcing it on me and they don't do it and drive, they do it at home. As long as you don't try and force it on me and don't get me in trouble/do something stupid because of it, it doesn't bother me. I've seen drunk people and I've seen high people. The high people were more fun.

100% agree with this. i enjoy a beer for being a beer, with a burger. mmm. otherwise not a huge fan of booze, and quite frankly.... its just a pointless argument.

Post your bong! :D 08-11-2010 11:54 PM agravlin Stoner lowlife.

i find that so uncalled for... i post something in the appropriate place, and now one of my 4 measly rep entries is negative, because of this tw@ts agenda.

Beer party, sooner or later.....fights break out

Pot party, sooner or later.....munchies break out

simply put....

I'm a simple man :D

I used to do both, to excess at times. My worst experiences were on alcohol....as legal as it is, far more destructive ..(not talking a couple of drinks at lunch) ...than herb IMHO.

I walked away from both several years ago, but it doesn't give me the urge to look down my nose at anyone, besides.......I'm seeing some awesome glass work.

Does anyone remember US Bongs?
