To all respondents. I know you all mean well, but, by mentioning this person by "name" you risk causing this person trouble from the FDA, that is if he is an American citizen. If you need to praise him do it in some way where you don't mention his name or by p m.
This may be a bit too paranoid as lasers and their characteristics are not illegal. Many of the replies about Pman are concerning lasers sent at no charge, and many of those aren't what one would call a pointer, so the FDA wouldn't/couldn't do anything to this person. He's just a very nice guy who has been very kind to many members here and there is nothing wrong with singling him out for praise. I would never give his full name in a post or anyone else, for that matter.

First off, know the law.
Secondly, a few years ago I posted an article I think from Optics.org concerning this very forum. I think it was titled: You never know who's watching. This forum is known.
In the past one member as I recall was sent a letter of warning by the FDA for selling lasers domestically. I may have been Survival Lasers or DTR. The point I'm making is do we want to potentially cause trouble for such a nice person?
I think anyone that makes a for sale thread knows the potential. To castagate people after the fact, isn't it like closing the door after the cows get out.

It is, but I hope next time members will think twice before singing out loud praises that could cause someone trouble.
How bad would members feel if their praising did? There's and expression used during WW2 - Loose lips sink ships.
Why just this one targeted thanks thread out of the many? Makes me wonder how really sincere you are:undecided: If i'm wrong about you i'm wrong..It is, but I hope next time members will think twice before singing out loud praises that could cause someone trouble.

Why this particular thread you ask? The title was akin to a KMart blue light special and I know what the aforementioned individual does. Why just this one targeted thanks thread out of the many? Makes me wonder how really sincere you are:undecided: If i'm wrong about you i'm wrong..
Pman sent a few pointers, nothing out of the ordinary.
I would think your added posts and this loose lips sinks ships thing just might bring more attention.

I do this anytime someone(s) opens their mouths before thinking of the potential repercussions.
As I said in this thread a well known member was sent cease and desist letter by the FDA. The young generation gives me the impression they aren't as cognizant that what they over share isn't private.
