Oh, the power supply may have integral air cooling fins and an external modulator instead of the flat bottom part. The specs are identical thoiugh. 5V PWM modulation signal, 28V main power IN.

Hm, does someone know the tolerance for the input voltage? 28 +/- 1 volt? Would be nice to know when designing the PSU for the laserdriver.
Can't wait to give this baby a spin on my CNC-router!

Two fully charged gell cells should work for a test !! That should fire it up/

I picked up a 28v/10a power supply, but I would like to make it portable too! What type of gel cells do you have in mind for this thing?

Yeah, I figured I'd need two, but at what Ah? Those things go up exponentially in both price and form factor with increased amp hours. Some of the smaller ones (<7ah) sell for under $20 and are fairly light and portable. Would they last long enough to keep this puppy burning?

Btw, Chris, I picked up one of those Power-One model F24-12-A units you recommended on eBay - for a buck! Well, $21 with shipping to be exact...

hello everybody, Im new to this forum wanted wave a hand Im also getting one of these co2 lasers looking forward to playing with a portable supply also thats a neat Ideal with the batteries, I have two old scooters in the garage with lots of gells in them I think six in each Ill let you all know how they work maybe ill have extras for trade good to be here. nightstick

Soooo... The expected shippingdate was two days ago... Are the lasers on their way yet? Is it time to start running like an anxious kid to the mailbox every time you can hear the mailman?

The expected day to receive the GB box from my supplier was the 10th, but the guy sent them by parcel post mail instead of priority so i got them yesterday on Wednesday the 12th instead. Anyway i shipped a few of them off today :)

Awesome! I cant wait! Thanks for doing this gb Chris! :D Ill post some pics when I get mine going! Now I'm going to have to get a 10600nm camera to try to see the beam! I wonder what it would look like to a FLIR camera... ::)
