Hey everyone -

I lost my interlock key for my 589nm PGL :( Anyone have a spare they would sell me for a couple bucks? :P

Key? Or interlock pin?

If Key - they're all interchangeable (mostly), and even a FireDragon key works in my PGL.

If Interlock Pin - just go to radioshack, buy the right headphone adapter, short the leads, and you're golden.

The Shack charges exorbitantly high prices is all -.- But I suppose I could check there.

Unfortunately, most of the headphones we have here are 3.5mm, not 2.5mm like the PGL's, so I don't even know if I will be able to find a 2.5mm jack at the Shack.

so you just short out the leads?
what if you stuffed a piece of metal down the hole?
solder, aluminum foil, or is it different?
lol

Honest to god, that's exactly what I do with all my PGLs.

For one, I find the safety features annoying an redundant since I keep my PGLs locked up. But mostly, I'm concerned about bumping the interlock and breaking it off while in the unit. It's just a cheap headphone plug after all.

So what I do, is expose about an inch of some standard wire, twirl it around so that the individual strands aren't loose, and then twist it into a "ball" of sorts. Then I stick it into the jack, with an inch or so of the still-shielded wire sticking out (to make it easy to remove). Then I take black tape and do a couple loops of the tailcap. Honestly, you can't even tell that there's anything different. The black tape blends right in to the host, and you wouldn't even know it's there (as long as it's the matte black tape, not the shiny stuff).
