Pgl 589 gb, dead in the water.

Re: PGL-III-C-589 GB-Payments stage.

Dang this GB filled extremely fast! I was looking out for 589 maybe another time!

I would be happy to put you on a alternate list if you would like. Just let me know.

-Hooray Banned! FINALLY!

Heh. I popped back into this thread to see how it was going and was happy to see that too. Sadly he'll be back I'm sure but at least he'll be easy to spot.

Enjoy your lasers folks as they're an amazing piece of kit. Make sure you get a good battery for it too.

For those in the uk, or perhaps EU, I can recommend flashaholics. ...for a battery, in case that wasn't clear!
LED Torches UK - Fenix, Nitecore, Zebralight, Eagletac, Olight and Maxpedition

I've used them since getting into lasers and postage is always quick. No need to order from US sites.

Re: PGL-III-C-589 GB-Payments stage.

I wish I could get in on this now, I just don't want to dedicate the cash right now. I should have enough till work starts again, but I like to have breathing room. I even considered asking others if they would hold a sum of my silver (50 oz or so) and pay for me until I am able to repay them but it'd be too much of a PITA I think. I will be predatorily eyeing the B/S/T section for members who got one who get down on their financial luck and need to liquidate some 589 assets in the future, though if you can afford one of these you are probably very well off. in fact if any ever need to, just remember me and send a PM.

that USAbro character. boy, I try not to hate. he made it tough with his extreme resistance to edification, which I did try.

hey buddy,
I wish I could spot you for a laser as I really want you to be on this GB with us. Unfortunately I am already helping another buyer out by putting up half the cash for them until they get paid next month otherwise I would. Hopefully someone can help you out.

Okay boys let talk about payment options. What everyone's thoughts? Paypal sent as a gift? I don't think western union is a great idea as from what I know if the transfer gets lost your SOL.
Another thought is direct deposit into my Bank account which I believe is very secure for both of us. It takes about 4 business days to complete but we have time. I am thinking the collection of funds will take a couple weeks tops. In fact I may be the one holding things up because my bonus money may not be here till the end of the month.

So lets brainstorm.

Re: PGL-III-C-589 GB-Payments stage.

Jeff we are going to get a beer. Then ill spot you my portion. That way i can put a face to the name and feel better. And possibly vouch for you! But i feel like the rest of the group woul like some sort of group paypal. Is that possible?

Re: PGL-III-C-589 GB-Payments stage.

I think PP gift would be a good option for this group buy as it is easy to send and keep track of. Just make sure nothing laser related is mentioned in the comments of the payments!

Sure if you come up to my house or a bar we can meet up. Im not sure what you mean by vouching for me but if anyone wishes to have my personal information such as full name, home address ext just PM me. If the group decides on paypal I would rather have you follow suit so there are records of all transactions in one place. I don't want to accept cash from you or anyone. Keep in mind I also want to be covered as much as possible with a paper trail showing who gave what and when. No cash or checks please.
When you say group Paypal, is that an actual type of Paypal acct I can set up or do you just mean the group will use Paypal?

I agree fully SP. I think Papal is going to be best for everybody myself included. It needs to be sent as a gift for obvious reasons.

Next I need to know how CNI accepts payment. I read in another thread with I think Greenlander that they wanted the money sent Western Union or like company and I am really not okay with that. I hope they will accept a cashiers check from my bank. Something that a stop payment can be placed in the event of a problem or not received plus a way to verify the funds were received and signed for. Western union seems sketchy. Does anyone else feel this way or think I am being paranoid?

CNI only accepts Western Union or Wire Transfer, not any other way I believe.

What I tried to do with Western Union was have the money sent to a location where they can go pick it up. Good thing about this is you can retrieve the money as long as CNI's hasen't picked it up. Back news is CNI might not be willing to take a car ride to go pick up some money :D

I want there to be some type of accountability that the company received the funds. I would be okay with a wire transfer to their bank. I understand CNI is a good company but mistakes happen and worse case scenario and they claim funds were not received we need some way to prove they were accepted and by who. This is why I don't like western union. This is a lot of money.

How do you feel about this UK? You have dealt with CNI before. Does this seem safe?

its a direct deposit, so the bank would have a record of it, as well as WU. it'd be hard to get away with a theft that big...but its not unheard of. though i've never heard of such a thing from CNI. people buy from them all the time. if they did something like that they wouldn't likely be in business still. especially as lasers are a highly competitive market. its no different than if you order from anywhere else, tho I do agree, some discretion is always warranted with large purchases. though honestly if you guys are at risk simply by ordering, I doubt CNI is the thing to worry on here...worry more about customs. I can't put all my thoughts down here in a public space for reasons I hope are obvious.

simply put...you are technically trying to dodge customs, so if you do order, be prepared to take it as a loss, however unlikely. how bad do you want the laser? everytime I take apart a laser its the same for me.

-do no harm, but be prepared for the worst. it is ALWAYS possible something can go wrong-

I'm not trying to be negative...I dont foresee huge problems...but do have realistic expectations.
