Osram PLTB450 1.4W 450nm Diodes

Love this unit... and the Osram PLT450!!! also, I just realized, I have another of the same host... I may make a special h.s. and have DTR make me one a bit higher output next :eg: Sure like the tighter dot pal!!! Thanks! -Glenn

Yep I really feel these diodes are the best kept secret at the moment. Most want to see big output numbers but these look awesome. Anyway glad you like it.

So 1.4W is the maximum that these were pushed to? I apologize if I'm asking a very dumb question.

I ran them to 1.85A but 1.5A seems to be the most efficient point on the one I did power testing on.:)

Sorry it's actually right up there in top posts.. I am too sleepy :( This diode is going to be in my next build after 9mm :) i think.

The thin beam and color just make my pulse race!

btw, also thinking this may be my choice for the Star Trek Phasor ;) -GH

I have been liking mine alot too played with it a bit on the bench just waiting for a heatsink to get it in a build. Color and beam looks great and I was geting about 1450mw on a 1650ma FMT driver with a G9 lens I cant wait for the heatsinks to arrive.

Can you notice the difference between 445 and 450 much with the human eye?
I'm thinking I may need to shop at DTR's again (I only bought a 12x diode the other day).

Hrmmm I would like to think I can but if you grabbed all my 445's mixed em up with the 450 I doubt I could tell you which was which.

Got a 445-C-1 lens from Lazeerer and have been testing it out on my 1.4W Osram diode. Gives a little better divergence than the three element lenses, much cleaner output and less power loss. It is a single element lens with a very long FL. He does not have a sales thread on it but you could hit him up if you were wanting to try one.

Here are the results I got. The three element has a lot of splash but the 445-C-L is very clean.

Were these lenses more expensive than a 405-g-1/2 lenses?
I'd love to get them from lazeerer but for some unknown to me reason, he completely ignored my several attempts to contact him. Perhaps he is very busy last few months .. Is there an alternative source for these lenses?

Ahhhh Just ate a 3LB BC Dungones crab... in a ginger sauce... OMG it was soo good.. I'm only getting 1150mw out of mine on a 1650ma FMT...

How is that possible.?

DTR is the Only one to this Day to ever get one of my "445-C-L" Lenses..:p

Your Only getting that much because you have a "635-C-L" Lenses.;) Which is totally diffrent.

I would Highly recommend you dont use the 635nm Lens On 445nm or any kind of Blue type laser diode. The 635-C-L have a Coating from 600nm-700nm Only. Other then the Lenses having similar molds they have different coating. In fact the 445-C-L lens has a very Thin Coating on them nearly invisible.:)

Or are you just talking abou tthe diode and i totally missed that.

I will have some more of the 445nm ones shortly.

I sell them for 20$ Mounted in DTR's High Quality Brass Lens Nuts.:)

Thanks for the testing DTR.:)

Cheers

gillza I have been extremely backed up. Can you send me a New PM please.? Sorry about that.

gillza I have been extremely backed up.

When your load drops to a manageable amount and you will have a minute or two of free time, please take a look at my PM's in your box.

Thanks.

DTR, lazeerer

could you provide some more information about the lens? Such as: is it a glass lense? What is the type of the lens: aspherical? Is it smaller in diameter/thickness compared to 405-g-1 lens?
