hmm, 660nm... that would be less visible than a pulsar even. i wonder if its diode or DPPS?

Stick to the pulsar!

I think the pulsar is WLs best laser deal by far. For currently gens of things like the Spyder, I wouldn't recommend WL. However the pulsar is the way to do for red portables. I recently got one of these orion lasers from CNI. As Tommy mentioned, at 660nm, even with an extra 50mW, they will be less visible than a pulsar. Additionally, if you're used to a nice round dot, you will get confused by the odd shaped square this laser puts out, as its not too much more than a bare diode.

The worst part is the price, which makes this laser at far less value than the WL pulsar. IMO, the orion is pretty pointless.

old thread

but yeah, and most noticeable is bad beam specs. i understand to get more than 250mW in red you need to combine beams from more than one source

and, off topic but couldnt help it lol
YouTube - METALLICA - ORION(STUDIO VERSION)

they could probably make better red diodes if they needed to :/

Seems to be an ooold thread ;)

The Orion´s are a way to expensive for their bad divergence.
If you want one, go with Glenn´s GB.
