Ordered a 561nm 5mw laser module. Need help with build ideas.

Ordered the same type of module that Lazerman121 was showing in this thread.
http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/review-cni-561nm-glp-module-95756.html

I ordered it through Eforce and it has a 3-4week lead time(probably CNI needs to make it and then it will ship directly from there if I had to guess)

This gives me quite a bit of time to plan the build out and get what I'll need. I don't want to leave it as a module, I'd prefer to build it into a finished pointer.

I've had several thoughts cross my mind ranging from easy to hard builds.
-The idiot proof option which is just to put the laser module, a AAA battery holder and a switch into a hobby box. I don't really like this option though, as I'd prefer to make this into a classy pointer.
-The preferable option would be some kind of pen or portable laser host. However this plan also has some complications.
1-Needs to take 2X AAA or AA. No lithium ion cells.
2-needs a constant-on tailcap clicky as the module won't be coming with a clicky switch on top of the module.
3-Some kind of heatsinking for the module would be nice.

Anybody know of some good hosts for the CNI GLP modules? Links to other parts I'll need would also be appreciated:)

do you have the dimension such as diameter and length or driver shape, and input voltage? (do you wether this thing is case + or -?)

Laser 66 pens should fit....(to the best of my knowledge all glp modules are 12.5 mm diameter..

Holy crap nice I wonder if its a module from one of the pens sent back.
If you don't mind me asking what was the price tag.

Nope they are 15mm

Hmmm that's weird since the 561nm offered in GLP pens are 13.5mm....

Edit: it's not a GLP module....

-It's a PGL-VI-561 module hence the differences to my owns....

If it's the same module as in that thread then it is huge compared to a AixiZ size module, more than 3 1/2 times the size. That's not going in any pen.

I see. Any other ideas? I guess this is the module that would go into the CNI PGL series and not the GLPs.

That is a PGL-VI host, which is 15mm, and is stuffed into the fat GLP host.

Here's some factoids Ava recently sent me about them.

Yes you will need something custom machined if you want a hand held, or just go with the project box, that would be easier and much cheaper.

Checked ebay/google for 15mm laser hosts/heatsinks and came up empty. They all seem to be for 12mm modules.

Yea they need to be a GLP style Cr2 host.
Im gonna make mine into a TEC stabilized lab style :P

So I gather that my options are either a custom machined host or the project box pointer idea. Does anyone know where I can at least get a heatsink for a 15mm module? After reading your thread I'm unsure if it will actually need one though. You mention that the module barely gets warm after something like 10 minutes of runtime.

Contact Flaminpyro or Eudaimonium for a custom heat sink.... and remember the dpss module is not case neutral..(find the out wether the module is case + or -

Mine is pulsed so I can cheat a little more run time out of it. the pointer that Gre3n had was CW So IDK what yours will be. either way i still would not recomend a 10 minute run time.
