Actually, I think the V1 and V2 are probably about as efficient as yours. However, once the V3 is out, it'll blow yours outta the water ;) 90-95% efficiency.

Ah thats what a buck should be at
Good job its great efficiency :) looking forward to trying one out, would they work for those 3.8mm red's? if they would id love to pick one up soon

I'm not entirely sure that these drivers actually operate at that low of a voltage. I see nothing on the IC's datasheet that says otherwise, but I wasn't able to get stable operation below about 4V or so. I may have had a faulty circuit though. The next batch, the more efficient ones, may be capable of it, so I will probably test it out. Hopefully they can operate that low.

It'd be great :) there's no high efficiency drivers for red at this moment :(

Actually, yeah, seems like it should be able to do that ^_^ At least the V3 version should be able to. The V2 version should be able to as well, I must have had a bad one.

Thats great  I'll be picking one up in a few weeks once the diode shipped ;)

V3 you say :D
are they work in process? will there be a GB? or they are already out for sale?
90-95% efficiency, :drool:what is it made out of alien technology ;)

thanks

V3 I say because V2 and V1 were already released. Drivers are always works in progress ;)

The FlexDrive is V5, after all. I am just waiting on the boards for the V3s to start working on them. They have already been sold to CajunLasers for resale, and DTR may also start stocking them once he tries them out and confirms they work properly (they do).

If you can offer the V3 with the ability to drive these new reds on one 3.7V you'll have a lot of interest from me :D

Seems like everyone jumped on building high A drivers and forgot about the little reds :(

Well, it's easy to design a low current driver. That's why high-current drivers are all the rage now. Low current ones are easy to get =p

wich current options do you have ??? i am very interested

They are set via resistors, which I set for you

Yup :) these can drive the future 515nm using 1 battery as well :)
And of course yours is at least 10-15% more efficient I beleive :) so with the boost the batteries will drain faster and with the buck they'll last longer :D and these two are the same size as flexdrives :eg: so both of them fit in a bunch of places ;)

200mA
250mA
380mA
450mA
500mA
600mA
670mA
830mA
1151mA

those will be the outputs for the production run :D they are able to be parraled though so you could double any one

you already have those drivers to sell???

if i order you i dont know 2 or 3 to check the desing and all of that things when do you have it??

2-4 weeks, and it will be a relatively small batch, then I'll start the large production
