O-like 1.5A adjustable driver

Has anyone used these? I am trying some out but I can't get more than 1A out of mine. Is there something else besides the potentiometers that you need to adjust to get the 1.5A?

what Vin are you using?
might be like the flexdrive, to hit the full 1.5A you need a high Vin, for flexdrive its 5V instead of the 4.2V that are lithium batterys use.

Weird on the eBay add it says 3.7-4.15V :thinking:

Ramp the Vin up and see if it outputs more current?

Yeah it is sensitve to the Vin. It is just too bad I don't have a 5V battery to use.

How much more current do you need ?

There are some new 18650 which output 4.35 VDC,

slightly more than the 4.2 VDC of older types.

They should offer about 5% more voltage,

which should deliver a larger percentage of current increase.

Well I'm using a 26650 otherwise that would be prime. Thanks though! Actually it would fit just fine with spacers around it.

they dont mention anything special to hit 1.5A.
Are you powering 445 or 405?

Edit:
actually i doubt you would be running a 405 at that current, so i dont know.

Yeah forget about driving a 405nm with these and a single lithium cell. Just tried it. The diode puts out 100mW max (12X diode)
These are perfect for driving a 635nm diode though. Works great on that at least. In fairness they are good at driving 445nm diodes just don't expect to get more than 1.2A

So you couldn`t get more than 1.2A with one cell? Thats not good
You could try to by pass the pot with a wire.

Have you tried the other one? the 600mA one?

Not good for a spec.

Higher voltage and less I.R. should get you slightly more current.

Does it? Yes, it also says "adjustable to 1.5A"
I have decided to keep these around for driving any other future 635nm diode I pick up. They are good for 445nm diodes to if you are looking for 1-1.3W Maybe I will use them for that too. They don't put out the voltage for 405nm diodes so don't bother.
I suppose they are good for the price. Just wish I hadn't bought 10 of them.

Does it output 1.5 amps into 3vdc? A flexdrive won't do 1.5 amp unless it's got almost 5.5vdc input or you're powering to like 3vdc, like a red 635nm diode for example. Man I was really hoping these little babies would be a 405nm 12x, 445nm AND 635nm driver! I've got a small order of them on the way from o-like.
They might just be an adjustable version of their fixed output 1.1 amp boost boards.

I'm not familiar with this driver but it's definetly a boost driver. You should never have more then 5V going in to this driver. At 8.2v-8.4v you'll kill it instantly and possibly the diode too ( depending on the protection of the driver) and about it outputting only 600mA then you could have got the wrong one or a faulty one

Got what i was looking for sorry for the post and delete, the pot that is closest to the spring bounce is the one that adjust the output to the diode.
