This is a new stile host made for the flexdrive. This host has great heat sinking like the kryton. Host is 3.5" long and 1" dia at its thickest point. Here are a few picture and a few picture of the on I built. The one with the o-ring grip is the one for sale. All you need is the aixiz lens, diode, driver and your battery. This host uses 1 cr123 battery. Asking 42.00 shipped.

Nice work Ehgemus
Pressing the diode like that directly into the host, is great for heat sinking.
Is this style host, your new style? Or is this just a one of a kind custom build?

That is a ridiculous price for that host. Too much work going in to that to sell it only at $42. Are you making those on a manual or CNC lathe?

Isn't Ehgemus the best! I love his builds and will continue to buy them from him for ALL my future builds. He is a very under-rated member of this forum.

When will you have more of these available? And is there an issue of the flexdrive just being held in place by the diode pins at all?

I do not believe this is a permanent set up, just an example of the diver and diode installation. If this were a permanent set up there would certainly need to be some kind of support for the diode pins since the battery will be putting presure directly to those solder joints. perhaps some artic silver or some kind of epoxy or whatever you decide to be most effective.

I completely agree with this. If he decides to put more of his wares out. he should consider opening a thread in the laser pro shop forum.

This is true there is a lot of work involved to sell for that price but I don't know if people are willing to pay more. I don't want to sit on these host forever waiting for the right buyer.:D

Some people might not want to set theirs up like this but I will keep mine this way. The driver is pretty sturdy this way. I thank as long as you don't put a real stiff spring on the back of the driver it should be fine.

You could also make a plastic sleeve to wrap around the flex drive. It would also prevent the battery from putting too much pressure on the flex drive.
