new phone= awesomeness

Zrtmwa.....I was just thinking the same thing. I have Nero 8 and I have no clue how to do what Jander is talking about. If you get some time Jander, could you explain this to us?
Thanks

I just want a phone that can make phone calls and fits in my pocket. Are my standards too low?

No prob...I have an external video card/dvr on my media center laptop.

I use nero's capture feature to "capture" my payperveiws while they are playing. It's hooked up to my comcast dedicated settopbox.

I actually capture them in DVD format. Then use media coder to transcode them into mpeg-4... media coder has a better crop and clip feature than nero does.:shhh:

Think of it like this. If you plugged in your video cam and using nero wanted to create a DVD then use the capture feature in nero. The only differance is I'm using my settopbox instead of a camera then I export the vid to my hard drive. Usually you end up with 2hr vid= 8 gig file.

I found out this is the only way to get around the broadcast flags put into the media streams by the cable company. I'm giving this information out cause, while I payed the initial fee for the vid I'm a believer that you should be allowed to backup your file/files. I know this is an on going legal battle and I've taken sides already as you might have found out.

Also if you use Nero you can clip the portion of the vid you don't want beginning credits and ending I don't do this myself just saying you can.

Why Yes, Yes they are. How dare you expect so little from your phone.:)
My thought on the subject is...if your going to carry something around with you every where you go, why wouldn't you want it to do everything that you can think of....keep you entertained? (Music, Internet, Movies, Games, phone) In my mind....it's completely worth it to have a divice like this and it is not logical to not have such a divice.

But that's just me:)

Hmmm....I see. To be honest, it kind of sounds like a hassel to do. I mean...if it's a 3 hour movie, it would take at least 3 hours and 15 min to do this. Me, I am a rent them and rip em kind of guy. I use Netflix or Redbox. It only takes 20 to 45 min to make a copy of the dvd and to encode it to what I want.

Granted....Your way doesn't require you to go to your local redbox...and it does work equaly well.

(FYI: I don't sell movies or make copies of them for other people) 99% of the time, I get rid of them from my system. If I really like the movie, I will usually buy it.
Plus.....With only 1.7TB of hard drive space, it only lets me store 420 movies at 4 gigs a piece (2400 movies at 700MB a piece)....I just don't have the hard disk space....LOL:)

no hassel my man I just watch the movie first...then I select the saved program feature on the settop box, open nero set the timer then walla.

I copulate a list then at night I transcode the file while I'm sleeping... I wake up the next day and drop them in my phone. After a while a put about 4 average on a disk and create a list to keep track. I understand what your saying it's just a hobbie. Remember Heath I grew up in the 80's
they didn't have this tech back then... VHR only, so this is my way to be prepared for bordem on an epic level.:wave::wave:
