finally got the first host in.....got me a whopping $75.....first one is always expensive (troubleshooting and getting measurements and designs correct)

Uses 2xCR2 batteries. and is built to accept the entire aixiz module..so that a rkcstr driver can be used.
clicky switch located in the tail cap....ect...

they will be around $30 shipped with batteries included.
still waiting to get quote on anodizing.

EDIT:
First batch is up for sell. i didn't get all the changes i wanted, but i think it is a big improvement from the pictures below...there are new pictures of the host on the BST thread for it so check it out.
He forgot to change the fin diameter though!! will have the emphasize that next time.
lol anyways i need people to hurry up and buy them so i can make new ones with more changes.

this is the first "functioning" one. i'm sure by the time i place the order i'll have a couple of things to change on it. Did you have a suggestion?

I would suggest making the cooling fins at the head the same diameter as the body.....

Yeah i agree with Hallucynogenyc. It looks like iron like he stated. Just my opinion.

Such that the rings on th front are as wide as the rest of the body.

I think the spiral groove is a nice idea in itself, but doesnt work visually here because it clashes with the cooling fins. If you would need grip, i think running a couple of grooves along the length would look better.

you mean it looks like it's made of iron?
btw, this host is virtually unpolished, if thats what you mean....

so
1. make the fins the same diameter of the handle?
2. fins and spiral are clashing?

everyone agree on this?

Yes, Make it one continuous size, like the kryton is one piece of straight aluminum. And maybe something for grips ? Anodize ?

I just realized why it looks odd: it looks like a (very large) hose interconnector - or at least half of that.

If you'd make the fins the same size as the body, that problem would be solved. Add some indetations that run the entire length of the unit, and that should prevent it from rolling off tables and such too.

not sure how much it would cost to anodize it yet....
i'll have him make the changes.

fins same diameter of the handle
replace spiral with straight lines running down the handle.

Also, I would suggest recessing the tailswitch (so it doesn't protrude from the end of the body) or it will likely face breakage issues...

And I definitely second the above, lose the spirals and keep the head diameter the same size...

Recessed switch is a good idea too!

I dont think many people would want to stand their laser on its butt to point upwards, but it gives mechanical protection against accidental activation (in a pocket or something) too. Especially with 100's of mW lasers i can see a problem with one turning on in your pants ;p

IMO you should make the cooling fins the same size, make it a recessed switch and insted of spirals just have multipale rings around it
