New high power Rocket launch

I would love to just put something into low orbit. Ah, pipe dreams. :yh:

We now have new launches scheduled for the first week of March with new propellant.

Stay tuned.

We're going for a speed record with the new propellant.
Got some metal storm and new redline propellant to try out.

Going to try and get press out for that.

There will be more as things unfold here in the next month.

What is the record? I will be anxious to see if you can break it.

A record set in the UK at a private school for a rocket guided by a metal zip line. The record stands at just shy of 1100Km/hr.

The other record is for our rockets. As far as we're concerned we just need to get the guiness book out to measure/verify our usual flights. As far as we know, we've already got the fastest speed of any Grade 7-12 school launched rocket.

So far the fastest has been ~1860Km/hr. The rocket hit an altitude of 3.2Km

:can:

New video showing our new video with a G125M (M for metal storm)

The idea here is to try and smash a new speed record for a G-Powered rocket.

This 200g rocket hit a maximum speed of 1478.9Km/hr (M1.23) at hit an altitude of 1.67Km. ~30g's were exerted on the body tube. Many of the other rockets did not survive the flight in one piece.

enjoy!

That's one rapid rocket, Seoul! :yh:
I'll be looking forward to your new speed record attempt; keep us posted!

That was a great video. Sorry you didn't break the record. There's always next time, buddy. + Rep. :yh:

Are you planning tot have the Guinness world record people out to document a new "official" world record---would certainly get your efforts recognized and help perhaps with funding as well..

We'll have to see about the guiness books. It really depends how many more launches we can do before launching season comes to a close.

I've got a few more videos to post of other launches from earlier this week

I'll post them as soon as I get them. Some larger engines on their way too.

New launch with a few new engines from our supplier. Skidmark (sparky motors) and an NBT (New blue thunder) Altitudes were 5780 and 7,100ft. A couple of the rockets disintegrated in the air due to the extreme forces of sudden acceleration. A video is being processed showing a spectacular ( our first) high altitude CATF (catastrophic failure) of the main body tube. The engine ripped out of the tube at around 4000ft and shot across the sky like a meteor. It was very spectacular! The body tube came down and was shredded
