Just received some new lenses specially coated for 600 to 900 nm laser diodes.

They are high NA and short focal length for minimum beam width.

They will fit in the brass machined lens holder shown in my avatar.

With the open aperture, power should be close to the limit for affordable lenses.

I know this isn't about red lasers but...
Someone recently told me about an 808nm 2W laser diode that I might get. It is c-mount 7mmx7mm. Will I be able to use this lens with that diode? Also what can you do with 2W of 808nm as far as burning stuff.

have you gotten the chance to test them yet? Have you gotten any power comparisons with aixis acrylic, or the meredith red?

Misterwilling;

808nm is what this lens is designed for.

With 2 watts it should be "All Smoke"

Giface;

I have a limited number of these lenses.

Tell me what you plan to do with the lens.

I'm looking for 2 AR coated lenses, one for 405 and one for 660. The DIY projects are for my own use :eg: i.e. I'll be the end user. Dave

Interesting, are these any better for reds than your other lens? i am in the market.

Dark, also larry, take a look at the thread i just posted in the red lasers section... i found a really weird diode... at least i think its weird. never seen one like it b4.

Thx in advance.

Larry Darkarmyofone Is building me a laser. Can I Paypal you the 59,99 or whatever your cost for the lens and Module to send to darkarmyofone. He is sleeping right now, but Can you hold one for me tomorrow morning.

I guess he's making me a 3 Watt IR laser with a 500mw Red to see the beam, I think

I dont wana sound like to much of a newb, but will this work on a pulsar?
I think it might, you would have to rip it apart to change the lens though. For the effort it really wouldn't be worth it, I mean you can buy 200mW red lasers for $40 these days and you would risk breaking your pulsar. You would get twice the power boost if you put this lens on a DX200 instead of a pulsar, plus the mod would be MUCH easier ;)

ya know this is all worthless until some figures and results of tests are shown. It's just a lens and if you wanna believe every claim then I've got a lot of "valuable" stuff to sell.

I am not quite sure what configuration you are building, but the lenses are coated for 600 to 900nm laser diodes.

So they should work for both diodes, if the lens is within focal length.
