New Green Diode NDG7575

The NDG7575 its almost in the same power range as NDG700, NDG7575, NUGM01T diodes
i believe the came out in 2014/or 2015 maybe am wrong :thinking:

This diode is not mentioned in “List of the diodes” thread, I don’t know if it’s new, but still intresting thing.

Totally! We've all been waiting for some yellow or orange diodes. Hopefully not too long now before we can get them cheap on eBay, like $5 for 10 pcs. :yh:

50 cents each for yellow diodes.....Alex, did you just make a joke? :D

I know one day we will have inexpensive direct yellows but they won't start out cheap, I would be happy with 50 dollars for 50mw of golden sun yellow in a nice single mode low divergence beam.
But I have not seen anything about yellows, just the 480-505 diodes that are looking pretty good.

I would love to see a super compact RGB module that could produce a good quality beam of the combined 3, it would of course need to have at least 4 pins if sharing a common ground so each color could be modulated to produce a uniform beam of any color, I have imagined a triangle core with 3 waveguides but a more traditional method of combining would be better, just made small for a compact HH unit.

I also thought about divergence but the spec sheets show the same divergence numbers for the 7475 and 7575

I expect the price will come down on these multi mode 1w 520's as the NUGM01 and 02 are around 100 dollars and I would expect new production 1w green multi modes would be made to compete, actually I would expect a GBall diode cost more to make than a can window so the question is do these 7575's come in the 8 block? If so they should be getting less expensive.

it looks like the new 7575 has 2A max current while the 7475 has 1.8A.
it could be a bit stronger the new 7575

I reckon if your going to spend $230 on a 1.3w diode you should add another $100 and buy a 800mw 532 Module witch is just as bright with a buitifull divergence!

If you look at the data sheets you will see the optical output power is 1.0 w typical although the slope efficiency is 0.7 for the 7575 vs. 0.83 for the 7475 so it appears that extra current may be needed to offset it's lower efficiency.

Still it's basically the same thing, the 7575 may have been an earlier model.

I was hoping they were new and improved, but now I don't think so.

p.s. There is a clue in that the seller I linked is charging 10 dollars less for the 7575, it's less efficient, so in fact it's not quite as good because it takes 2.0 amps to make 1 watt rather than 1.8 amps to make 1 watt both at 4.6 volts. Divergence is identical.

Look at both pages, the data sheets are in fact different, the threshold voltage is a little different as well but that means nothing much, what matters is the slope efficiency and the extra 200ma needed to get the same 1 watt from the 7575.

I just checked and both listings have been removed, but the slope efficiency for the 7575 was 0.7 and for the 7475 it was 0.83

I did not build the diodes, that's what I read from the data sheets attached to the advertisements earlier.

It showed the 7575 was slightly less efficient than the 7475 but both put out 1 watt with the same divergence, the 7575 actually had a slightly lower threshold voltage but other than the max amperage and efficiency and threshold they were the same, the 7575 was shows as slightly less efficient.

I may have screen shots, I will check and see.
