I'm guessing it's going to be huge disappointment :(

everyone should please stop posting crap like this, nobody owns one, so nobody should say "i think it's gonna be crap"

a ton of people have ordered them so within a week or so we should have some proof of weather or not these lasers are legit/ worth the money
Calm down deary. I've had my fair share of these "too good to be true" deals and it rarely works out as ideal.

I got a $200 precision digital thermometer at a garage sale for $1.50

all i'm saying is wait and see, until then all the opinion posts are really just useless...

And I'm typing this using a £450 monitor (VM 454 Pro) that I got for £30. We'll wait and see but I'd rather be pessimistic and not disappointed than optimistic and taken for a moron.

I am also thing to buy one but i wonder since the red laser is not very bright color. My 100mw red laser look a little brighter than my green 5mw!I hope that the beam focus well because red laser its hard to focus in a small dfot like green.

That's not a very interesting video, really. All you did was point it at a black surface for 11 seconds. It doesn't really prove or disprove anything either way.

Looks like I was right to be disappointed. If it was 200mW, I think he'd learn very very fast why it shouldn't be pointed at his monitor. Still, it will make a nice paperweight. And the women love it.

While I doubt this laser is actually 200mW, I don't know how shining a laser at a computer monitor, with all its different screen coatings, proves anything. The fact that most of us have to get out the sharpie to make things burn doesn't say much about the burning capability of many lasers to begin with. Even shining a 5mW greenie I have on this desk--which is brighter than that laser will ever be to the human eye--at my LCD causes half the beam to be diffused, and the rest absorbed by the multiple layers on the screen.

Personally, I think the barrel configuration + laser is a pretty good deal, considering that until Kenom's barrel GB, all we had to work with were relatively dumb looking flashlight mods (no offense to those who have them). At least this thing has a nice focuser at the end, probably solid design, and a better-than-laser-pointer laser built in. If this thing has a nice circuit board built in, we can easily mod it for bigger and better laser diodes.

BB's got a point :-/ It wouldn't be a complete waste even if it had no diode....But still, I would like to see more of it than 12 seconds on an LCD ::)

Just to clarify, the video has nothing to do with me (except for me spotting it roughly an hour after it was posted on DX).

Oh damn...I thought you got yours allready...well it's a crappy video anyway :'(

LOL :D I LMAO-ed at this one spyro :D :D ;D

The video doesnt prove anything at all. If you focus a red in an aixiz to infinity, the beam is so wide (5mm or so) that it doesnt burn anything solid at all, even if it is putting out 200 mW. It should poke a hole in a trashbag or perhaps electrical tape, but the solid plastic like a monitor casing would be quite resilient.

Plenty of people here ordered it, so lets just await any real power measurements using proper equipment.
