Hey guys this is my new custom host and a NUBM44 inside! I used my Astral superdrive v inside on full current, about 4.8A and i attached a small heatsink on the ic...
I have an issue though: After 6-7s the diode starts blinking... So i wonder if it 's an overheating problem of the driver or my batteries are not good? Any idea?

Yes, the Astral SuperDrive V has thermal protection built in. It will flash when it gets too hot. The IC side of the driver should be adhered to a sizeable heatsink. I also like to squirt a bunch of thermal conductive paste in there too which seems to help a lot.

Any idea what heatsink should i use for a let's say, duty cycle of 30s max? I think the one i used is far from being good enough for this job! @Shmackitup

I tried with a 2 part thermal epoxy but i also have to find a way to keep it pushed on the side wall of the host for about 2 hours until it cures... I think i ll try today and i hope it 's gonna work....

Finally driver is mounted on the host side wall, with some kryonaut extreme 😂 for ic and some thermal epoxy on the whole driver to stay there... 40+ secs no blinking! I think it stays cool enough now!
