New Boost Driver in Dev

Re: New Boost Driver in Dev *Asking for investors*

Not to mention the fact that 95% of 10440's won't source enough current to run it at that level anyway.

Re: New Boost Driver in Dev *Asking for investors*

Well yep, but even if we had a magical 10440 that would somehow source it, then we would need a magical driver too.

Re: New Boost Driver in Dev *Asking for investors*

If you had a 10440 that would source it, you could still use two flexdrives. heh.

Re: New Boost Driver in Dev *Asking for investors*

Progress report?

Re: New Boost Driver in Dev *Asking for investors*

I am in the final stages of finalizing a contract with the engineer. Once I sign off on it then I will be collecting investors money and making final payment.

Re: New Boost Driver in Dev *Asking for investors*

Final contract is signed and ready to go. Payment will be made tomorrow. I have got some funding from family and friends, so my money will be used at this point. I do still have a list of investors, so in the case that more money is needed you will be contacted.

Thanks everyone for helping make this happen.

Re: New Boost Driver in Dev *Asking for investors*

Hey guys, just a small update... I'm so freaking excited at the moment!!!

Just made payment to the engineer and he is starting work on the driver tomorrow. I did end up convincing him to use PayPal but this only protects me for the first 45 days. I have confidence in him and there really should not be a problem.

ETA will be announced in a new thread closer to the release date... but we are looking at a 2 month span from today till total completion.

All in all I am quite happy with what we have so far and it should be easy sailing from here on in. If you have any questions or queries you would like me to answer or to ask for you... feel free!

I impatiently await the results.

Been loosely following, subscribing now.

Re: New Boost Driver in Dev *Asking for investors*

Work has finally commenced on the driver. Still a few personal issues I need to work out with the engineer... but expecting a smooth take off and sailing from here on out.

Sounds like it is moving along...:yh:

As of any last minute engineering changes what are the projected
dimensions of the Driver PCB and what are the Input Output voltages
and Currents expected...??

What is the ETA of the first working prototype...

Projected dimensions should not be any bigger than the flexdrive at 9mm x 12mm, but there is a possibility it could be smaller (not by very much).

Input range expected is 2V min, 5.5-6V max and will be 0-2000 current range (with separate current ranges).

Working prototype should be done in ~2-3 weeks. I haven't asked.

:thanks:

I can't wait to see this! I hope it works out. I don't know if anyone has asked, but will this get hot enough at full load to need heat sinking, and if it does, are the parts that need it all nicely on one side?

Wow, that is pretty small, man. Can't wait.
