New 808nm build.

Usually in pen type lasers the modules are glued inside the host,
and some just seem to be pressed in there. In any case, they don't
usually slide right out, and you have to get rough with them. If it is
just the host you want, and not worried about protecting any of the
innards, I've found that you can usually use a long screw driver and
just carefully tap the module out with a hammer, of course paying
attention not to smash the host. ;)
PS: nice work on the diode pics.

I see, now that makes a lot of scene now.
I will keep on trying. I was really hopping to re-use that housing as well as the tube it self since it's a pretty solid build.

Thanks a lot!

:3

Thanks to Ibuprofen200mg again (rofl)
I've got the head off, and now i can't seem to get the diode itself off any ideas?

for the ones who may have something similar, i just gook a big screwdriver and hold it really tight and just and just unscrewed it off

Why would you protect the pins like that ? Normally shrink tube is used after the wire is soldered to the pins.

I just put them on to see the looks for now hehe.
everything should be here this upcoming week, so I should have more completed pictures coming up :3

Just got this driver in, here is a closer picture of the driver
Getting ready to solder it in

Did you test the driver with a testload before hooking up the diode ?

oh my god......
i am an idiot! that's what i was gonna do before hooking it all up but forgot about it

You need to know what the output is of the driver and if the driver is functioning well in long duration.

yeah bud, let me unsolder the damn diode off hehe
how should i test that? just hook up a battery to it and measure it?

My testload. Hook the driver to pin19 and pin20. Measure with a voltmeter the pin17 and pin18.

a really stupid question......
what am i trying to measuring again?

i measured the input power is 2.64 and out put is also 2.64v (batt is been used in a flash light for few weeks)

or what does the testload do?
