You can't see much but that's it I guess. I shoved a quetip in the diode lens trying to get a spec of dust off of it and it messed everything up. I also don't have a lpm and I plan on selling it after it's fixed so if someone could measure it for me that would be great. :)

For standard aixiz module...?
Colour and Power of your laser?

Jim

It's burned in, I tried alcohol a while back and haven't had time to send it off to get repaired. It's a copper module from dtr in a SL s4 host and I don't know the power. But I can see the beam in broad daylight (2 pm) so I'm guessing it's like 1.4-1.6w.

The dirt is on the diode window and not the lens. Changing the lens won't solve the problem.

Yep, not much you can do but buy a new diode. Sorry Rewkie :/ Thats never any fun when little things happen like that. Best of luck my good sir.

^ You don't need to buy a new diode. There is crap on the diode window. All you need to do is remove the diode window or can and the problem goes away. The problem is you can get dirt on the die VERY easily and that could make the problem go from "Aah, there's just some dirt on my window" to " Crap, my diode is dead"

I don't get what is so hard to understand. The OP is requesting a decanning service . :)

it took me several wipes to clean some crap off of my 12x diode using acetone. you may want to keep trying.

+1. Keep trying to clean it. Worst case, you scratch the lens and have to have it decanned. Which is where you are at right now, right?

Always use a new swab, don't want to scratch the window with whatever the swab picked up on its first wipe.

isopropyl has always worked fine for me. You can find 99% at some pharmacies, 91% at most grocery stores, %70 not worth bothering with.
