I think this would be a good idea.
Maybe using hashes # infront of (as well as behind?) the username?
I think people use asterisks too commonly, as a way to accentuate something.
Uhm, you're right, asterisks are also commonly used for onomatopeic and action indications *cough* *hides shamy in a corner*
Good point
.....
Also, just as an example.... mrgoogfan was often referred to as googfart, googfreak, douchefan, etc... so it would not work too well there.
Right, but the main utility of this function is, if you intentionally want to attract the attention of another user on a post where you reply ..... like, you see someone asking for something that you know user "X" have, and want both let the OP know about it, and also let user "X" know this post, then you can do it with a single post, instead have to post also a PM to user "X" ..... and in these cases, you still have to type the nickname correctly for make it work (like, #photon# don't work, where instead #photonaholic# work )
Well, anyway a PM is not a too hard work to do, i agree with this
But as others said, i also don't think that VB scripts already includes this function, at least as far as i remember, and write it specifically can be a long work (not bashing c0ld or other users programming ability, but remember that a plugin for VB need to work together with all the rest of the scripts, functions and plugins, without interfer with them ..... it can be done, only, is not matter of "5 minutes of programming", i think )
