My Rainbow -- Post Pic's of Yours

About the spinning mirror thing...
if you have a multi-line argon, try putting a diffraction grating on a mirror, spinning that, and shine your argon into it. That makes 7 or 8 concentric rings of color.

For as much of a pain as an argon is, I just realized a benefit (for me at least.. probably others too).
I'm overdriving my diodes and have to keep a short duty cycle. I can leave that argon on for hours of experiments. (tho I just noticed after about 1/2 hour even my heavy duty extension cord is HOT.. she's a power hungry beast!)
I'm dying to know the power of my argon.. Ive mentioned in other posts that the thing was sold to me as being under 100mw, but the thing outshines all of my other lasers, and seriously smokes my skin after about 3 seconds. I dont mean a small tingle like my blu-ray, but literally smoke comes off my skin!!

my rainbow, ya it sucks :-/

Whoa :o  Nice collection!!! 8-)

One question, in those pics it seems that almost every single laser isn't in TEM00?  They all look like the have mode issues or is it just me and my eyes having mode issues? :-?

Sorry, I have a question: what's mean Tem00, Tem01 and what is the difference visible and no?
Thanks

Basically, TEM00 is when the laser is a perfect dot. TEM01 is two side-by-side dots, and TEM02 is four, TEM03 is 6 dots, and so on.
The changing from one mode to another is commonly referred to as "Mode Hopping"

Best thanks, was from some months that I had to understand what's mean Tem00.
Now I have understand. Thanks again :)

Here's my rainbow. Colors are slowly being added. I think a yellow HeNe will be my next purchase.

Who's going to be the first to post a Roy G. Biv picture? I'm sorry, using a multiline argon doesn't count.

how the heck do scanners hit all the "in between" colors?

i know i know, wrong thread for this question.

By combining RGB in the right percentages to make the desired color.
